Hammer Sear Block

I am not a profeshinal trained gunsmith but have been working on guns since the seventies. Working on old double guns and building 1911's. I have been told many times my 1911 trigger job was fantastic and this would bring in more trigger work. When i bought one of these blocks i found out how much better my trigger jobs can be. This is one of the easyest tools to use and makes the jobs so much faster.

When I received mine the ...

When I received mine the sear pin was bent about 10 degrees out of square which I attribute to being shipped with 1K of 200gn .45 bullets and insufficient packing material. The pins are very soft so look closely before you make any modifications to your hammer or sear.

This piece is a must have to get a really clean trigger break. I get the most out of it when used with some sort of magnification to see how the sear engages the hammer.

A great heavy paper weight. AND, a handy tool for sear engagement checking and also, I find it excellent for installing and removing the mainspring pin. I use the big pin, as it is stronger. This works better than the blue peg on the universal tool..

Block is well made and solid. Quickly identifies any problems with sear or hammer engagement. In one case it showed that the sear pin hole was improperly drilled at an angle on a new sear.
