This is a cool little target. I also use it indoors in my basement. I have a long narrow area in my basement and with this at the end about 20-25 feet away, makes for a nice little range. I like to use my .22 bolt action as well as a .22 revolver and I use the .22 short rounds that are around 700 fps. Works well.

It will not stop 5.56mm no matter how far away you put it. It works perfectly for its intended use on other .22s though!

Excellent, well built trap! To eliminate fragments from coming out of the trap I waded up a few old plastic bags, and that solved that problem. This unit is welded solid, and in my opinion much better than the bolt together jobs. I'm glad I spent the extra bucks to get this trap!

I'm using this in my basement from 25 feet to 25 yds. It works very well with a wide range of .22LR. Most of my bullets fragment on impact, though, and a little bit of shrapnel has bounced out (through the target) - hence the manufacturer's admonition to keep back 25 feet. But it's not a lot and a heavy piece of cardboard covering the entire opening (behind the target) keeps all fragments inside the trap.

I have been using this trap for a year now and I love it. I set it up in an unused bedroom that has a long wall run. It keeps me the required 25-30 feet back from it and makes the shooting fun as well. This is the absolute best thing for cold winter days I have ever bought. You can sit in your nice warm house, out of the wind and snow and plink all day if you want to do so. I usually keep my Smoke Eater/Air Cleaner in there too to keep all of the fumes cleaned out of the air as I shoot. This makes it a much nicer and safer time for me. I have used a few different types of ammo, CB caps and Subsonic but by far the best stuff seems to be the Colibri or the Super Colibri from Aguila. This stuff is super quiet and uses NO POWDER so it is very low power. I have experience almost no splash at all since I started using them. I am so glad I found this thing as winter used to be so boring. All I did was reload and wish I could be shooting. Now, I can!

This bullet trap/target ...

This bullet trap/target holder is quite durable and sturdily built. After firing at it for an extended period of time, the finish appeared to be unaffected save for lead "skid marks" left by the bullets as they were ensnared.It easily handles all varieties of .22 rimfire projectiles and safely captures them while preventing ricochets. Just be sure to stay back the requisite 25 feet specified in the instructions to be on the safe side.Emptying the bullet fragments from it after shooting is also pretty easy. Just tip it up and dump out the chunks.My only complaint is that if the target being shot at (and held in place by the included clip) is semi-rigid--like paperboard or some types of cardboard--when hit with a low-velocity round like a .22 short or a .22 CB, it has a tendency to cause the clip assembly to bounce free of the trap periodically.Overall, a very good product.

We have used this trap indoors for the last two winters and it has withstood 20,000 plus rounds of 22 rimfire. It has started to bend just a little toward the middle of the trap area but, I think one should expect this after the beating ours has taken...

Trap performs well and is perfect for target air guns indoors. Outdoors it can be used with 22lr or magnum air guns. The previous review reminded me of an important rule. Unless you enjoy breathing small amounts of lead dust, never shoot anything indoors over 800 fps. Lead poisoning is forever.
