As mentioned before, too much take-up, and very slightly too wide (minor drag). Replaced old trigger because there was too much movement and grip safety was inconsistent, so the minor fitting (top and bottom of polymer shoe to fit) was just what I needed. I always polish the sides of the bow to minimize drag, which "slicked" this trigger up. Minor fitting with small flat file is easy and better than the compromise of a "drop-in " fit (one-size-never-fits-all).

Mounted in a SA Mil Spec 1911. Needed considerable fitting. Too tall and too wide in some spots on the plastic trigger itself. Also, the bar was considerably too short (over 1/8") causing an excessive amount of take up. It is extremely lightweight though, allowing a reliable 3 lb. or less pull (which is actually less than I wanted). Looks good when finished. Only 3 stars due to all the screwing around I had to do to lengthen the bar to shorten the take-up (never did get completely rid of it, a little less than 1/16" remains), but otherwise a decent product.

Bought the trigger for my Colt M4 series 80. Used you tube video for info on the lower half dissasembly and putting the trigger in was quite easy. Took a little sandpaper to get it in there but once set it was good to go.

I give this STI poly trigger 5 stars and then some!!! Installed on my BEER Budget SIST. Colt build, the reason I love this trigger is it comes a bit over sized but being poly made fitting 100% easier and has a great light feel to it. First initial fit wouldn't go into the slot but with a little filing and a black marker (used to see where more filing was needed), it was in with ZERO vertical movement. With a little time and adjustments on the take-ups I would put the trigger up to any other custom trigger out there. *NOTE* expect this and any other "semi drop-in" trigger to require some work, with any build you want great parts that have that "built for my gun fit".

End result with this trigger in my RIA Tactical is great, but it sure took a lot of effort to get there. Only three stars because of all the tweaks needed to get good results. First, the bow was a bit deformed causing excessive drag on the mag. Second, the unique shape at the rear of the bow is a problem - it may defeat your grip safety entirely as there is a lowered cut where the blocking lug of the grip safety normally engages. I had to rework the tabs at the bottom of the grip safety so that it would swing back far enough to provide engagement and it is still minimal, surely not what I would prefer. When you consider that the lowered cut really does nothing to improve trigger performance this is really annoying. Third, although I knew this trigger did not include a hex key to adjust the overtravel screw I thought it would be a common size. And there is no indication of what the correct size is on the package. A call to STI got me into voice mail and I never got a call back to answer my simple question. As it turns out, the required hex key is TINY (.050"). While this is a normal size, none of my hex sets went that small, so I had to pick up another full set at the local hardware. All in all none of these things mean this is not a good trigger. It looks great, the take-up adjustment tabs work well, and after quite a bit of tweaking it works fine, but it sure was an exercise in aggravation getting the best out of it.

I was afraid of the ...

I was afraid of the polymer trigger at first I've only worked with aluminum and using a stone to fit it. I was afraid that it would cause too much drag if I fit it. But it worked perfectly where I used an extremely fine file. The under travel tangs worked very well, I will order more of these for future projects.

Dropped right in to my ...

Dropped right in to my RIA tactical requiring only a small amount of filing of the polymer pads on the top and bottom of the trigger. The adjustment tabs on the trigger bow allowed me to reduce the initial take-up of the trigger. Overall I was very pleased with the product.

Hey folks...see those two little tangs on the front of the bow? Those are used to adjust the take-up. The trigger has about 1/8" take-up built into it so that it can be custom-fitted to each gun. This trigger is light, lessening the inertia when resetting, making for a much faster trigger. Feel is good, reset screw stays properly positioned (and is NOT used to adjust take-up...it adjusts OVER-TRAVEL), can be fit very tight on top-bottom clearance and allowed to "break in". This is a great trigger for people that understand the mechanics of it.

This trigger was exactly as described... however in my High Standard Mil Spec there was way too much take-up. 1/4 inch and no way to remove it. Not a "Drop In' but I guess there really is no such thing.
