The bottom line is this. "You had better grab one before they are gone." I just ordered a 2nd to just sit on the shelf until I get my next center fire rifle that I want to mount it to. I own several scopes that cost me $1000 or more and this Simmons is not one of them. For $99 the optics, durability, repeatability, and overall bang for the buck is the best thing out there for a mid range to long range scope. The adjustable objective yardage marks on my first one was very close to what it was labeled. The range I shoot at only goes out to 200 yards so I can only speak out as far as 200 yards. At 200 yards with .223 Rem Savage 12FV tactical rifle and this scope, I shot a 5-shot group that was .920 with custom loaded ammo. As others have said, the thing is large, heavy, and rectile center is a bit thick. Buy a good set of high to very high rings and mount to your favorite rifle and you will still have money left over to take the wife out for dinner. The White Tail Classic6.5-20X 50mm is a true winner in my book. Great work Simmons!

I purchased this scope about a year ago and got rid of it. Out of the box it seemed like a very solid scope, but at the range it did not hold up to the test. I mounted it on a Remington 700 ADL 7-08 and the best groups I could get were 2.5" at 100yrds and 1" at 50yrds! After zeroing at 50yrds the first shot would be on the money and the second shot would be way off. I tried new rings, and various types of shooting rests including a led sled. When I mounted it on my 10/22 it performed well, but with any short of recoil this scope is worthless.This scope is cheap and will not hold zero to save it's life. After spending $70 more, I got a Nikon and I'm now getting 1/4 groups at 100yrds! : ) Don't buy this scope! This is my second Simmons scope and I have had the same issue with both. IMO they are junk!

The parallax adjustable objective works precisely. I recently shot my best group (3 shot) ever using this scope on Ruger No. 1 in 25/06. Three into less than 3/8" @ 100 yds.

The scope makes and holds adjustments well and is the perfect scope for the flat shooting calibers.

have one on a savage 110 308 win for over two years. i put a whole box of double tap 125gr nab in practically the same hole at 100 yards; there was about a 3/4" hole in the end. and plinks consistantly with 168gr sierra match at 300yds. gave one with the milldot to my little brother to put on a model 700 in 30-06 shooting Barnes vor-tx 168gr tipped hitting cosistantly at 500yd. have one on a Weatherby vanguard 7mm rem mag dead on (sub MOA) at 300yds. Adding to that price, the light gathering and clarity which rivals my zeiss and leupold vx-7, it is a no brainer. as in any manufacturing line there are going to be defects even in a system better the 3 sigma, but that does not mean the whole line is junk.

I was a bit sceptical when I ordered my first 6.5x20 Simmons scope. Thinking it would be junk like other scopes with simular specs and prices. Boy, was I surprised! This scope is great in all respects! I have since ordered 15+ more of these beauties to retro-fit several Leupolds, Nikons, Bushnells, Cabellas Alaskan Guides and Zeise on old and new rifles all of which shoot sub MOA. It is extremely clear, bright and holds Zero even in .30 cal and above caliber rifles. Not one failure yet. Try one you will like it.

I mounted this on my Ruger American 308 using 10mm low rings. Can easily get sub MOA 3 shot groups with Federal 168gr match ammo. Holds zero, even when I accidentally knocked rifle on it's side, smacking the scope on metal shooting table. Scope was unscathed, next 3 shots were still on zero. If you do mount it on an American, deburr the Ruger supplied bases. Mine had burrs that caused issues. Only thing lacking on this scope is eye relief. When I installed a flip up rear cover, would sometimes get grazed by cover on recoil. No problem without the cap. See my review on scope & rifle on thefiringline forum for details & pics.

I bought this scope to put on my 10-22 and it has done a great job. I am tackin nails at fifty yards,and can hit a squirrels at 100yds.Over that distance scope isn't clear as I would like it to be.But for what I use it for it does a great job.

Consistent, to 100 Yards thus far and holds it's Zero very well.Will typically use to 300 Yards for target shooting, and club competition.

For the money, I would buy one again, or any of a variety of other Simmons "White Tail" Scopes again, as I have in the past, as I own 3!

Support at the factory is very good should you call Tech Support.

Recomended!!!

I mounted scope on a savage 110 tactical. makes for a good inexpensive scope for a bench rifle. I like the adjustable settings on the forward focus.The scope has very good clarity, and is very bright. I have used scope out to 600 yards. the only downside is that the front lens is very large and cant be mounted on low rings,but good overall scope for any rifle- best scope in its price range

This is a very good scope for the money. When you put it on higher power it gets a little fuzzy. I also wish the crosshairs in the center were a little finer. Other than that it is a very good product. Very clear and an all around good buy.

I mounted this Whitetail scope on my AR-15 and it gave me a beautiful, clear view of my paper target at 100 yds. Groups were much better with this scope. Next spring I will start shooting at 200 yds, which I could not do with my old .22 rifle scope.
