Product Information

Rooster Jacket Waterproof Bullet Film and Paper Patch Lube helps to eliminate leading and improve the accuracy of cast bullets. This Emulsified liquid lube dries to a clear, hard, glossy waterproof film that tightly bonds to cast, swaged and copper-jacked bullets. Lube was designed for use with low velocity (under 1,000 fps) handgun loads. Lube can be applied by hand dipping, tumbling, or flood coating in a container or funnel.

Too bad such a great product is no longer available! I use it for all my Cowboy Action Shooting, and have started some friends using it. Any chance of a replacement?

Just finished shooting 300 rounds lubed with Rooster in my 45 and am very impressed, no leading at all. What a great product!! Very easy to use and isn't sticky once the bullets are dry. I am using 2 lighter coats to get better coverage than one heavy coat via tumble lubing. My only regret is that I didn't start using it earlier. I will be ordering more of this stuff!!

Once I switched from Liquid Alox to Rooster Jacket I never looked back. Have tumble lubed 10's of thousands of 45, 40 and 9mm cast pistol bullets with this stuff. My only regret is not discovering it earlier. Works great on non- tumble lube projectiles also. Low smoke, no stink and no sticky bullets. I use 2 light coats instead of 1 heavy for best coverage.

Used this product for my 56/50 Spencer and 50/95 Winchester loads. Eliminated the leading issues I've had in the past using soft lead bullets in both.I sized and lubed the bullets as normal and then coated them with the Rooster Jacket.Much better groups and no leading. What more can you ask for?

Started out using the Lee ...

Started out using the Lee Alox but switched to Rooster after reading reviews. I have to say its the greatest thing I ever did! This stuff really works and best part is how clean it is. I shoot it in HOT .357 and .44 special plain base bullets. I get less leading with Rooster than with traditional lubing. Also ran it in my 30-30 at 2000 fps with a gas check bullet sized to .311 with no problems at all. Very accurate. My lubing method is to 1.) get a funnel 2.) put a wire screen at the bottom 3.) fill funnel with bullets 4.) put my finger on the bottom of the funnel 5.) fill the funnel with Rooster lube to cover bullets, remove finger from bottom of funnel and let drain back into Rooster Lube bottle 6.) dump bullets out on hardware cloth-metal mesh for drying. Cleans easy with water. Do yourself a favor and buy a bottle. You will not regret it.

Works great for .45 ACP using a 625 revolver. Wheel weight alloy and a none tumble lube mold. Easy clean up, low smoke, hard finish.

I used this with the Lee tumble lube .41 cal bullet and found it easy to work with, no smell, and works very well. At 800fps or so very little smoking, at 900+ much more smoking as I get with any cast bullet-but very little leading of bore. Glad I tried it.

I purchased this product on advice from Handloader Magazine to lubricate paper patch bullets for my .45-70. This product works extremely well on the 400gr cast paper patch bullets. I would recommend this for any low - mid cast bullet application.

I have had great success ...

I have had great success using Rooster Jacket for loading .38 Special ammunition for use in two Marlin cowboy rifles as well as for use in revolvers. This lube works very well for any low velocity rifle or standard velocity handgun cast bullet load for which you can use a plain-based bullet. I use a different lube for heavier loads. But for recreational shooting and economy this is the best. Most of all I like that it does not build up in seater dies, it dries hard, is not tacky and it does not pick up grit. It also does not stink or smoke in indoor ranges. In my PPC target revolvers double-end Saeco #348 wadcutters group under one inch at 25 yards off a ransom rest. Couldn't ask for anything more.

This product is excellent ...

This product is excellent for applying paper patches to cast bullets. Just rub Rooster Red on both sides of the paper patch and roll onto the bullet. Fold over the paper tail at the heal of the bullet and it will stay in place. I stand the wrapped bullets on their flat bases till they dry. It is advisable to keep a small dish of water handy to clean the solution from your fingers occasionally. Five stars for a great product!
