Poor weather conditions and heavy use in Cowboy Action events can cause early failure from your factory ejector. This 1-piece steel ejector replaces the lighter 2-piece factory ejector. Fits all Marlin 336, 444, 1894 and 1895 rifles. Gunsmith installation required.

I installed one of these ...

I installed one of these stainless steel ejectors in my blued model guide gun. Mainly choosing stainless over carbon steel for its rust resistant qualities.Performance is great. The ejector gives a positive flip to the spent shell, falling right at your feet. Which is nice if you reload. However I found that you must give the lever a good snap all the way open for positive ejection. If you lever the action open without a good snap, the brass will stay in the gun, hanging part way out. Not a problem to me. As when I'm hunting and if that second shot is needed, the lever gets operated with sufficant force to get the spent shell out with no problems!

Installed one of these ...

Installed one of these three years ago into my 1895GS. It worked fine initially. Recently, I noticed unfired shells weren't ejecting properly. Removed the ejector and found the flat spring had flattened out against the rest of the ejector. An attempt to bend it back out resulted in a broken spring. Reinstalled the original Marlin spring and it's working fine. I use my 1895GS a lot and have fired several thousands of rounds through it. Maybe the problem I had was normal due to extensive use. Or, maybe I just got one with a weak spring and it failed prematurely. For now, however, I'll use the original and see how it holds up. Will report back later if I have any problems with that one.

I would not call the original ejector faulty, but this one is slightly more forceful. It allows for slower cycling of lever to have reliable ejection of large 45-70 brass. I only had a few hiccups with old ejector, but none with this one.

Quality made piece dropped straight into my Marlin XLR 336. Had no problem with the original (although it was a bit stiff even after hundreds of rounds) but am bringing the rifle on a hunt when this season starts and didn't want to have any reliability issues. Spent brass now ejects smoother and positively dropping nearby. Great for me since I reload. Don't know about the other Marlin models but from my experience, I highly recommend this for any 336 in 30-30.

I own a Marlin 338MXLR and this dropped right in no problem. This along with the Wild West trigger is like having a new rifle. Spend the hundred bucks, buy both! No disappointments

This was a complete drop in replacement in my 1895GS that I purchased new 2 years ago. The part works perfectly. For those that are nervous about any level of disassembly of their Marlin, The Marlin Owners forum has easy to follow instructions with step by step photos. You cannot go wrong with this improved part.

This is a nicely made piece but will not allow my Marlin 336 to cycle... it is too thick to allow the spring to compress. I can see it is superior to the factory original in craftsmanship so I will not knock it on the rating but I suspect it is for the pistol caliber rifles. Sadly, I had to return it.

Needs a little trimming. I dropped into my 336AW .30-30 ok, but I had a tough time replacing the bolt; the action was *very* stiff & jerky & it appears I'm shaving away a bit every time.

Definitely not a drop in for Model 1894's. Took two hours with hand file and sandpaper and 10 minutes with Dremel to file enough off the ejector to allow the bolt to close in my rifle. I had to remove and reshape the piece but compared to the original it is much better made but buffing down so much probably weakened it considerably. Should make one specific for 1894 as it seems to fit out of the box in the 1895's.

While sighting in my brand new Marlin SS Guide Gun, it jammed and I could not cycle the action to save my "whatever." I purchased one of the Wild West ejectors along with a big loop lever. It was a "drop in" installation, with no "gunsmithing" involved. I tried to replicate the original jamming problem, which was caused by some unburned cylindrical power getting between the ejector and it's spring, and it would just not jam. This ejector, along with the big loop lever crushed the contaminate and kept on cycling. No problem! I feel MUCH better about the reliability of my rifle now!
