I have owned two of these barrels and they function great if put to use correctly. That's why I gave it all five stars. This makes an awesome home defense shotgun and shortens the length of the gun 9 1/2 inches if you're going from the old 28" vent rib. Great for throwing in the backseat of a truck or car. Also greatly lightens the gun. Produces poor accuracy with slugs and very loose patterns with all buckshot I put through it, although with low brass #6 loads I managed to drop several squirrel beyond 15 yds. I recommend you buy this only if you're looking to make your Mossy a home defense gun, and then go look at the synthetic furniture and heat shields to dress it up a bit.

Barrel shot fine, but was unhappy to find that the barrel was used and repackaged, had oil on the barrel an two bad scratches on it be careful.

It came to me new in the box. I have been putting off buying a new barrel for my Mossberg for some time now, but after someone tried to break in about two weeks ago the time came to take action. Not wanting to discharge my 357 in a apt I put in my order. What can I say the Barrel fit like it should and the bluing is flewless. Just a heads up never ship USPS 3rd class. The cost was not that much less then 1 class, but it took over 10 days to get here.

I bought one of these for my Maverick 88, it was shipped fast and was in excellent condition when it arrived here. The packaging was the blister type packaging and there were no signs that it had ever been opened. It took about ten minutes to install and on the range it has a pattern that has to be more than lethal at 15 yards which is about as close as I want anyone to get to me. It also presents an intimidation factor you don't get with a 26" barrel. I added a sling and elastic shot shell holder to this gun and it moved from the back of the safe to the front of the safe.

I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but I did receive a new one. I was worried with all the reviews that I would get a dinged up, rusted, used barrel. It fit perfectly on my 500a conversion. I also picked up the promag forend, mission first vert grip, knoxx pistol grip and tacstar 6 shell side holder. It really gave the gun the look I was going for. If you go with the promag, be sure to check your forend length cause you may need an extended forend nut.

Overall satisfied with the barrel, but did not notice until after I had installed that there were a few blemishes on the barrel and it appears to have been fired before.

I received mine this week. NIB condition, no rust, or marks, Blue finish matached my 28" Maverick perfectly. With the addition of a heat shield this made an awsome looking home defense weapon out of a $125.00 Pawn shop purchase. It took less than 10 min to swap barrels.

I give this barrel 4 stars because it makes a great home defense primary weapon. I had read previous ratings and many had told me to check the barrel before instalation, believe them. Mine had some minor blueing imperfections. However, the way I see it is that I have turned a typical 12 gauge into a home defense weapon for under $100. It is now a brute weapon designed for specific needs and minor blueing flaws are the least of my worries.

I was so looking forward to putting this bad boy on my shotgun as soon as the order came in. When it did come in and I opened the package it looked like it had already been installed and fired. You can see the marks on it and whoever returned it did not even bother to clean the inside of the barrel. I give one star for me getting a used item instead of a new one but midway is gonna replace it I just have to ship it back so I am not too upset it is just an inconvenience.
