Product Information

These revolutionary bullets from Barnes are made of 100% copper and contain no lead. When the bullet expands, four razor-sharp cutting petals are created, allowing the bullet to penetrate farther through tough bone and tissue. These bullets usually retain 100% of their original weight, making them a superb choice for hunting. Barnes recommends initially seating bullets 0.050" off the lands. Best accuracy will be found from 0.030" to 0.070" depending on the rifle. This is not loaded ammunition.

My son and I were hunting hogs, when we encountered a 200-225 pound sow at a range of about 30 yards. The sow had turned slightly towards us leading with its right shoulder. My son shot the sow through the right shoulder (muzzle velocity of the bullet was around 2800 fps). The bullet broke the right shoulder of the sow, entered the chest cavity doing substantial damage to the vitals, hit a rib on the left side of the sow, penetrated completely through the rib, and exited the body! The sow ran in a tight circle and dropped in a heap within five yards of where my son had shot it! I have never seen an 85 grain bullet perform like that!I might even consider using a bullet that penetrates like this on elk!p.s. This bullet does have a bit of a boatail design.

I couldn't find a load that my rifle liked this bullet in (at least not yet), but I experienced a much more rapid onset of copper fouling than I'm used to with this gun (Howa 1500). The barrel is well seasoned and broken in, and previously hasn't had any issues with fouling at all using bullets from Sierra, Nosler, and Hornady. Last week my daughter put about 40 rounds down range (Hor and Sierra) over the course of the afternoon without any real cleaning in between. Accuracy remained good, and when we cleaned up afterwards the CR10 solvent removed only a couple of lightly blue tinted patches. 10 rounds of these, and patches came out bright blue time after time after time. I like the design, but not the maintenance.

Amazing, South Dakota Hunt.

This bullet is amazing compared to the Remington Core lokt 7mm Mag bullets I use to shoot. I'm shooting a Browning A-Bolt 7mm Mag rifle with a Nikon Buckmasters 3-9x50 scope. Recently going to South Dakota for white tail, first day out there I killed a 130 class deer, not as big as I would have liked but disease has affected the population so took what I could get. I spotted this deer at 150 yards with a group of does. It was quartering towards me and I hit the deer in the neck. It went through and hit him in opposite shoulder. Bullet released all of its energy in the deer! I found the bullet in his shoulder. An amazing bullet! Gonna start shooting it in all my rifles.

Within the last couple years, I have converted to using the tsx and the ttsx in my Browning 270WSM, 243 Win, 325WSM, Rem 25-06, and Rem 7MM Mag. All the rifles are sporters with the trigger to 3lbs and a couple have Carlson insert or floated stocks. The 243 and 270wsm are a factory A bolt and X bolt. I have had great kills with other bullets for over 25 years, but the accuracy with the tsx/ttsx is just unbelievable. Follow the Barnes guidelines for Reloader 15, 19, or other at max. or just less than maximum charge & with the recommended extended seating. The 243win with the 85g tsx just averaged less than 0.25 inch at 100 yards with 46g of Reloader 19. This was two different groups of 3 fired rounds. Its so hot now that you can not expect to fire repetitive rounds without a long cool down. As far as results, the 270wsm 130g tsx completely stopped a 400lb. bore last year in 10 yards at a distance of 75 yards. Great results so far with a very good product!

I purchased the 85gr tsx for my Remington 700 in .243. I had great results using 35gr of imr 3031. Im not sure what my velocity was, but I do know that @150 yds my six shot groups could easily be covered by a nickle with room to spare. I cant wait to see how they work on a deer. Great product!

Bought these for hunting this year and went in full bore buying them for all my rifles. Loaded beautifully from first load (using Barnes manual) daughter shot a 7pt at around 60 yds hitting it in the neck exiting through the left shoulder. The bullet never fragmented and the deer dropped on the spot! Very impressed with this bullet and am completely sold!! It's the one shot solution!

I use these bullets in my 6mm AI. The first load I tried shot about a 7/8" 5 shot group @100 yards.I didn't try any other loads/seating depths, but am sure if I did I could improve the group size. Using Reloader 19 my loads chronographed at about 3,600 fps. I have shot 5 whitetail bucks and 1 doe with this load, all one shot kills. 3 of the bucks dropped on the spot,one ran about 10 yards the other about 15 yards. The doe was quartering away from me at about 100 yards. The bullet went in just in back of the ribs on the left side and exited out the right front shoulder.It never knew what hit it.I have never recovered one of these bullets from any game due to complete penetration.

With TSX's if you have a rough barrel these will foul it more quickly than a conventional bullet jacket because they are softer. Also, if you have fouling from conventionally jacketed bullets in the barrel these will foul it much more quickly. So clean the barrel to the white then foul it in using only these bullets and whatever result you are seeing should improve. I used these in Africa on plains game and they were devastating!

I've been hunting 'lopes and mulies with my Remington slide action .243 for 38 years. For many years my favorite bullet was Sierra ProHunter loaded to max velocity. It was typical for the animal to bound away and topple after a dozen jumps. But this AMAZING bullet topples even large bodied mulies in their tracks! NOV 2010 I killed a trophy 4 X 4 buck at a distance of approx 225 yards. This muley fell right over! Performance rivals 25-06 and 270 !! Accuracy is remarkable - I can add nothing to what has already been stated (above).

The best I have found. Have two Savage rifles and both will shoot sub 1 inch groups at 100 yds. The most devastating round I have found for deer sized game.
