Product Information

The TacStar Pressure Switch End Cap allows for remote on/off operation of the flashlight with fingertip pressure on the activation pad. Features a curly cord that expands up to ten inches for convenient placement on the firearm. Velcro tape is included for placement of the activation pad. The end cap is precision machined from Delrin for an exact fit on the flashlight.

I have used this product for a little over a year with a TacStar T6 (6 volt/2 battery) on my shotgun and recently tested it with a Surefire G2. I have had zero issues, it has been a good product for me. Due to the nature of the item I believe overheating issues may be caused by use of 9v (3 battery) lights and/or higher output (and therefore higher current) lights than what I have used.

This product is "decent." As a momentary switch, it's fine... I've never experienced overheating, but then, i've never held it down for long periods of time.. as a momentary switch, I would never intend or expect to need to... leaving your weapon-light in the "on" position defeats the purpose of momentary switches (not to reveal the your position - right behind the light walking around) The reason I rated it so low, however, is that the wire is a bit "touchy" as to its position. I've never had the light activate during use due to this, but the issue becomes apparent while taking the weapon apart for cleaning. There are certain angles (with relation to the cap) that the wire moves that activate the light. As I stated, when the weapon is in use, and the wire is stationary in the position I currently have it mounted, the light does not (hasn't yet) come on without using the pressure pad... but the fact that something moving the wire from its resting position (i.e. your hand, a wall, your clothing/gear) may set off the light and therefor tell your position is NOT good. Maybe I just got a defective one (though I didn't notice the issue until months later, so it's possible that the wire that flexes at the cap is just deteriorated)... but I wouldn't want to be in a dark house in front of a hiding perp. when my light turns on and gives them something to aim at that my head is behind.

I purchased this for a surfire G2 tactical light that I have mounted on a shotgun. It works well. and is a good accessory to have on any weapon mounted flashlight.

I bought this for the flashlight on my duty M4. It does not work if it is jarred or bumped. And the pressure pad is only effective if pressed just right. You have to screw it in at the perfect position and any tighter or looser will make it not work. This thing is garbage. Don't waste your money.

Wanting to use my Surefire 6P LED light on my AR, I tried to find a suitable pressure switch that would work. Since Surefire doesn't make one that you can use on the 6P, I took a chance and bought this. It fits perfectly and works great!I've had no issues with heating, but then again, as others have stated, why would you leave the light on for long periods of time? Simply put, I've now got a great tactical light with a momentary contact switch that works great at a cost effective price.I'd recomend this, and have, to my friends looking to use their Surefire 6P's as a weapons light. PS: if you're storing your weapon with the light attached, just unscrew the base to prevent accidential switch activation, that way your batteries will be ready to go too.

After reading the other reviews, I was hesitant to purchase this product, but Surefire doesn't make a remote pressure switch for the 6PL and I needed one. I have used this product while out hunting wild hogs and it works just fine. The switch doesn't get even mildy warm, and it works no matter the position of the connecting wire.

Switch gets so hot....Trying to contact with TacStar via email also the phone. They simply just ignore everything.. no response at all. Do not buy their Products.

This product is a hazard. The switch gets too hot to touch during operation and I'm only using a 6 volt Surefire. As a professional in the safety field of 20 years I would recommend that Midway discontinue this item. If the switch is inadvertantly activated in a bag or storage, there could very well be a fire leading to catastrophic results.

This product stinks. Plain and simple. It gets to hot to touch thus making it unusable. Further more it is unreliable and has failed on more than one occasion.
