Works well on the ...

Works well on the Remington Express series that does not require the detent ball to keep the cap on. If you have an extended magazine tube on your Remington (with the magazine tube clamp) the clamp keeps the tube from loosening, so the detent won't matter. Great design that allows it to be positioned to the left, right or under the forend. Good fit, good finish. Perfect clearance on my gun with the factory forend as well as with the Pachmayr Vindicator forend. The light co-witnessed my point of aim right out of the box, but if needed you can bend it slightly to adjust it to suite your light.

Mount installs with the ...

Mount installs with the scope rail pointing towards the stock. When installed in the underside position a Streamlight M6 allows no room between the illuminator and a pistol grip type forend used in many tactical conversions. A conventional type forend must be used unless the mount is installed in a side position.Ratchet type magazine caps are defeated due to the mount's flat and recessed surfaces. As a result, the cap must be constantly checked for tightness. No provisions are offered to fix this flaw.

I have a couple of them on 870's and no problems shooting with TLR-2 laser/lights and heavy loads. Streamlight says it will also fit on the model 1100's.

We have had 4 of these snap on us by the thin concave bends on the side of the mount. We use the Remington 870 with Federal 00 buck tactical load (LE127). The mount does not seem to be able to handle the force of the 00 buck.

I'd looked all over for a light mount for my 20 ga. 870 & finally took a chance on this one. It fits great & seems very solid. My Insight M3 slides right on & locks down tight. I haven't yet fired any shots with the mount attached, so can't yet give it 5 stars.

Mounted on an 870 20 Ga. this product, like most sftermarket shotgun products, is probably meant for use on a 12 Ga. gun. but regardless of the facts once i tightened up the mag extension tube it locked down solid as a rock. i have ran two cases of my own reloads(#4 buckshot)thru this gun and it aint moved yet. perfect clearance and plenty of hand room with the factory forend. space is tight with a choate 20 ga. forend because its shorter than the factory one, but its nothing that i cant deal with. overall great product. it looks good, has a nice finish, and very durable

This is an outstanding mount. I have a Hogue forend with a Surefire G2L in a CAA 1" quick detach mount. This puts the light at the perfect position for home defense or critter elimination (with a nuisance permit, of course). The mount can be at the 3, 6, or 9 o'clock positions to accommodate your preference and setup. That's the left, right, and bottom for the rest of you. I have a Choate +3 extension on my 870, and this mount marries up perfectly. In fact, it may even help hold the extension stronger as I don't have to worry about stripping the detent. I highly recommend this to all who want to take their dependable SureFire and breath new life into their 870!!

It attached to my 870 and I mounted a Streamlight TLR-1 on it. However, when I tested it out on the range, after about 55 mixed rounds of birdshot and buckshot, it snapped off half way on the mounting ring. Literally a half circle left on my shotgun. Can not recommend.
