This LaserLyte Side Mount Laser fits most Smith & Wesson J-frame revolvers including 637 and 642 models, as well as all Taurus revolvers including Judge pistols. The new and inventive Side Mount Laser is easily mounted underneath the rubber grip of the revolver and is the only laser system available that allows the customer to retain the factory grip and holster the firearm. The Side Mount Laser will also work with many popular aftermarket rubber grips.

Just got done shooting my S&W J frame at an in-door range. Wow! I love this sight!. I was able to print a 5-shot group at ten yards that were all touching except for one that was about a half an inch away from the group. I haven't been able to shoot that well with this particular gun ever. My old eyes just aren't able to see the front sight and that makes a group difficult. I'm going to order another one for my other J frame as soon as I post this. Now if the red dot were just visible in daylight, it would be perfection.

Got the laser today. I have an older model square butt J frame. Had to remove a little of the wood on the right hand grip to fit the sight base plate under the grip. That took about a half an hour because I wanted to only remove as little as needed, so I went very slowly. Other than that, a piece of cake to install. The sight seems to be "on target" without any adjustment. A trip to the range on Tuesday will prove the correctness of that observation. My laser does not have a pulse mode. It is either on or off. Doesn't matter how long I hold the on button. But that is okay because in strong daylight the laser will probably not be visible anyway at any distance. In the dark or subdued light the laser is bright enough to pick up right away. I really like the extra bases that will allow the sight to be used interchangeably with other pistols.

Got one for my 442. Fits perfectly with Pachmayr compact grips. Activation button is easily accessed with the thumb of either hand. I did, however, have to clearance my holsters slightly. I make custom holsters to finance my gun hobby, so it was an easily accomplished task.

Just a warning to all ...

Just a warning to all buyers, although it will fit all J frames, it won't survive all of them. I put it on my 13.3 oz .357 and it wouldn't adjust after one round. It just couldn't survive the recoil. Would probably work on a gun that didn't recoil as much as mine...

Bought this for an original model 60 J-Frame with a round butt. Had Hogue overmolded grips on it. Laser came as advertised, took about 15 minutes to fit--I had to cut away about 1/4" strip of grip material on the right side (where the laser mounts) in order to install. Zeroing is pretty easy and I zeroed mine at 7 yards. Be careful zeroing though as the allen wrench is very thin for the windage and elevation allen screws. If you force it, it would be easy to strip these screws out so use an easy hand when installing. I have to give laserlyte credit as this installed perfectly and works great on my J Frame for considerably less than Crimson Trace. I have a revolver with Crimson Trace Grips and they work excellently too but are much more expensive. Overall rating is excellent and installation was easy as well. By the way, they even give you four extra batteries with the laser.

Just got this today. Installation was easy. I did have to change to the other provided mounting plate for my S&W 642 PRO. My 642 is the blackened stainless model with a power port. I wasn't crazy about lasers but I put a set of Crimson Trace Laser Grips on my wife's 642 Lady Smith. It has terrible sights so the grips made since especially for my wife. The grips also help in taking the bite out of defense loads. However, I loved the Rosewood Lamanent Grips that came on her Lady Smith so I put them on my 642 Pro. With this laser I can keep these beautiful grips. I did have to make a very small modification to the wood grips to make room for the small portion of the mounting plate that the grip goes over. I used the other mounting plate as a depth guide. It took me about five minutes. The pulse mode is a must. Makes it super easy to quickly pick up the laser dot. Activation is a snap with either hand. Kind of like clicking on the safety of a semi-auto except click on during draw/click off on reholster instead of the other way around. It fits my Nemesis Super Fly pocket holster like the laser wasn't there. Now I have it all. A beautiful black stainless lightweight rosewood gripped revolver with compensator, Excess Big Dot Tritium Sight and now this pulsing laser. So far I have only boresighted it but Ill report on its ability to hold zero as soon as I get to the range. I dont bother going unless Im going to put at least 200 rds down range. The only negative is that the mounting plate at the rear screw area is a little rough on the right thumb when practicing activation. Ill round it off if I ever need to refinish this revolver.
