This is one of the simplest bore sighters you will ever use. Simply chamber the bore sight like a normal cartridge and a laser will shoot out of the barrel showing exactly where your rifle or shotgun is aiming. This will save time and ammunition as only a few shots will have to be fired for fine tuning.

This product works great! The only issue I have is that the package states that a "sleeve" is included for the batteries. I could not find this sleeve. Without the sleeve to protect the batteries the laser did go dim in less than a minute. To correct this situation I wrapped the batteries in scotch tape & the unit works fine.

I too had the issue where the laser would only stay on dimly for a few seconds. The solution, as mentioned above, is to wrap the batteries with a layer of tape so they don't contact the inner case wall. Apparently the circuit is shorted when this contact occurs and the light flickers out. Tape it and it works flawlessly.Additionally, throughout my troubleshooting I discovered that Energizer #13 hearing-aid batteries work fine.

I did not expect pinpoint ...

I did not expect pinpoint results, however I did expect some consistency. I chambered this round and dialed my scope in. For a check I chambered the round 3 additional times and each time I had a sever laser POI change @ 100 yards of at least 4 feet. My example is not calibrated correctly on one or both axis, if it was there would be little laser POI change. If it was my Nikon scope the POI change would be the same each time, for it changes when the round is turned. I would opt out for the external laser bore-sight with the cone shaft before this model. It appears they cannot hold zero or sightmark cannot calibrate them correctly. The batteries are hard to come by, dont last long and will not produce a bright enough laser to be seen in daylight. I cannot think of anything positive to say about this product. It may possibly get you on paper if you are lucky enough to get one that is calibrated correctly.

Seems to work ok but the ...

Seems to work ok but the outer casing is cut too large... I have a Bushmaster Varminter and it will only seat halfway in the chamber. Had one heck of a time getting it back out of the rifle the first time I used it since I let the bolt slam forward on it rendering it lodged in the chamber pretty well 2/3rds of the way in. I was still able to get the optics zeroed and I guess I can say it did its job but whomever was doing quality control that day at the factory dropped the ball I guess. Also like most have already said, wrap the batteries in clear tape before you install them. The dot was only about half brightness the first try because of the power bleed off to the casing.

This is an 'ok' product. This will not sight your scopes perfectly by any means, as with any other laser sight. But it does assist in being able to get an idea of where the bullet will go. You cannot get out of going to the range to sight your scopes. But this product helps. Also the laser is very bright for close distance (50 ft. or so), but long range--forget it. The laser last about 40 minutes or so and then begins to die. So overall, 'ok' product.

I have purchased 3 of these lasers for my rifles and what I do is chamber the bore sight then go outside in back yard at night and do a quick sight in on a known distance object , use your range finder to get a distance, then when you go to the gun range you will be on paper first shot using less ammo.

I thought using this item sounded like a smart idea --- sight-in my Bushmaster without using a lot of expensive ammo. I tried it outdoors on a cloudy day from about 20 yards away. I discovered the laser point is so tiny and faint from that distance you can't even see it. I tried using light colored targets. Dark targets. Small. Large. It didn't matter. This was a waste of money for me. Maybe good for indoors & very short distance sighting only.

Good product. Will never spend more than 10 minutes sighting a holosight or a scope. Works easily up to 25 yards and a little beyond that in the right conditions. Only flaw I see is that you need to wrap the batteries in a thin layer of clear tape for them to fit well and not constantly drain battery. Would also recommend an on/off button if they make new model? Overall, worth the money compared to the other expensive alternatives.

Nice when it works. Had to buy new batteries right away. Then it would work properly for less than a minute, then go dim. Great product if the laser would stay on for more than 30 seconds.
