Redding Trim Dies allow you to file trim your cases without unnecessary resizing because they are made to chamber dimensions. Other manufacturers use sizing die dimensions, forcing you to full length resize when trimming. For case forming and necking brass down from another caliber, Redding Trim Dies can be the perfect intermediate step before full length resizing.

This die works great, but ...

This die works great, but you don't really need it. I use the FL sizer without the expander rod, and the brass comes out great. I too had an issue with getting the brass all the way up to the die while resizing. I removed the die lock ring, and ran the die all the way down in the press, and worked like a charm.

I use this die and a hacksaw with fine teeth to cut .223 cases to length, then run the cases through a resize die and load them. It's the quickest, easiest way to make quality 300 Whisper brass without splitting necks.

Looks like this will work ...

Looks like this will work well for forming .300 whisper brass. Only drawback is that I'm going to need an extended shellholder to get the top of this above the bushing in my rock chucker. Wish I had known this in advance. Now I'm on the sidelines for another week to get the rest of what I need to make this work.
