I really hate to give it ...

I really hate to give it a "one star." They did replace the first one that broke after 50 or so shots. (focal lens came loose) The replacement lasted less than 100 rounds. The crosshairs "shook loose." I double checked the Chaote mount I use and the rings from Barksa. Everything was tight. I verified the crosshairs were moving by firing a shot using iron sites, checking the position of the crosshairs, firing another shot by iron sights, and verified the crosshairs had moved, a lot! And they kept moving with each successive shot. It is possible I purchased two defective scopes, but not probable. Our problem is we are limited in selection of "compact scopes." There are dozens to choose from in the very inexpensive (cheap) line and there are only a few to choose from in the very expensive line. There is no "middle of the price range" compact scope. I would love to see Nikon, Redfield, etc. come out with one in the $100 to $150 range.

I called and e-mailed ...

I called and e-mailed Barska to explain the focal lens came loose after less than 50 shots. It cost $10 to ship it back to them, but they replaced it at no charge. That's good business any way you look at it. I will test the new scope tomorrow and let you know the results. If this one stays together, I will have to change my previous rating.

Proper fitting of the ...

Proper fitting of the mount to your SKS is critical. It must be tight. The bolt carrier impacts the bolt cover with every shot. I chose to use the Choate mount that mounts to the receiver. A much more secure method that also eliminates the bolt carrier slamming into the cover at every shot (which can't be good for the scope). Still, after less than 50 rounds, the focal lens inside this scope came loose. Also, you will find the crosshairs are very thick. I know nobody wants to spend hundreds of dollars on a scope for an SKS. But folks, you get what you pay for.

Works great on my yugo ...

Works great on my yugo sks w/ a tapco stock. The rings it comes with are junk. I bought weaver rings and 1000rds later... still holds zero @100yrds with a grouping the size of a pool ball.

I bought thins scope for ...

I bought thins scope for my Savage Mark II, and the rings did not fit, which was expected. When I got it mounted, I found out that the eye relief was way too short, and I also found that the adjustment nobs were not the greatest.

The scope and mount ...

The scope and mount appear to be good quality, but the mount needed considerable work to hand fit it to the gun. The tabs at the front of the mount were too long, and the hole in the lug that the pin goes through was undersized and wasn't straight. I haven't had the chance to fire it since installing the new receiver cover so it's still in question where or not it will still lock in tight enough.
