I should have listened to the other reviews! I thought a little fitting, rough finish no biggie. It was going to get sand blasted and refinished any way. This thing flopped around like a fish out of water! Length was short having a 1/16" gap below the grip safety. Dimensionally this is simply too small for a 1911. Paper weight now.

I bought this MSH with some trepidation because of a bad review. I installed this part on an Rock Island Armory Tactical in about 15 minutes. The only fitting I had to do was the hole for the pin that holds the part in the frame was SLIGHTLY undersized. About 10 seconds with a drill and part installed without a hitch. Finish is a little on the rough side, but the color matched my parkerized finish real well. Fit to my frame was fairly snug, no large gaps on the sides, and the length was so close it wasn't worth the time to take it down to flush. All in all, a good experience.

I was reluctant to buy this item based on the one review, but I took a chance and it worked fine on my Essex Arms frame. The finish was just a little rough, but my frame is parkerized so it matched well.

The one I got has the main spring hole drilled into the center of the hole where the housing retaining pin goes. So it's impossible to get that pin into the gun.That, and the fact that the one I got has the hole for the housing retaining pin also drilled incorrectly. There is a visible difference in space from the rails which slide up into the receiver and the holes when viewed from opposite sides. And the hole lets the housing hang down about .20 below the receiver.I finally threw it in the trash yesterday, because I kept wasting time trying to make it work.
