Excellent upgrade for the 597, MUCH better than the cheesy tip-off mount grooves that it comes with, nice and solid, perfect fit, and the scope is actually centered properly over the barrel now.

I recently put one of these on my rem 597 and the only problem I have with it is the screws that came with it fouled out the factory tapped mounting hole. Have to buy a new receiver now.

This is a vast improvement over the factory top rail installed on the Remington 597 AAC-SD and provides more flexibility in mounting optics. I only wish the slots were evenly spaced.

This base is just the thing for your rem.597. It will allow almost any scope to be mounted with the proper eye relief, also it's as solid as a rock. MUCH better than trying to use those grooves cut into the top of the receiver.
