You can't beat "Mil-spec" tools for AR15 work. I have read reviews on other 'barrel' tools and simply put..."This is the one." It has the strength of construction and design needed to tighten and torque barrel nuts properly and for standard diameter muzzle devices it is the "cat's meow". If you believe that 'all in one tools' are acceptable, just remember that there is only one right tool for the job.

Terrible product for taking off a factory barrel nut. I was using it to take mine off on my DTI upper and one of the 3 rods snapped clean off and went flying! I had my upper completely secure in a vise block too. This product is only useful maybe for putting ON a free float barrel nut (because they have holes instead of teeth notches), and taking off the flash hider (just use an adjustable wrench anyway!). Maybe I just got a bad one... I'm not sure. I just took my AR to a gunsmith and he got it off with a different tool (can't remember the brand but I know it was a multi-tool) and installed my free float and everything for only 30 bucks. I should've done this in the beginning :)

Couldn't ask for better. However tough this wrench looks in the pictures, it's tougher! Another one of those tools from DPMS that should last forever with proper care. Perfect combo when used in conjunction with their Delrin upper vise block (Product# 730930).

Definitely prefer this style barrel wrench over the "all-in-one" kind. Three pins make it much easier to see the notches in the barrel nut, which makes it easier to line up with the gas tube cutout on an upper. Plain steel means you won't have paint flaking off in your work, or the wrench slipping.

Slots for flash hider, etc actually fit, most models do not. Snapped off a pin on the second bbl installed, now its a paperweight.

Good tool, I had to widen opening to fit WOA Varmint barrel. This took one minute with a Dremel. I knew from the other reviewer I would need to perform this task before it would work. No big deal.

First time I ever tried an AR-15 barrel swap, and this tool made it a 45 min walk in the park! Milled steel construction can't be beat, I expect this to be the first and last barrel wrench I'll ever need to buy.
