The EGW Tactical Oversized Bolt Knob is available in three styles; Teardrop, Teardrop Three Strip and Teardrop C-Beveled. The bolt knob features 5/16-24 threads.

Very good product! I've found the beveled shape of this bolt knob superior to the normal teardrop shape. The curvature allows for easier handling and superior grip. Can't beat this item for the price; but if you're not happy with it, Midway is also very good about handling returns/exchanges.

I put this knob on a Remington 700 just to see how it would work out, and as it turns out I am very happy with the result. The knob gives a lot more leverage making it much easier to cycle the bolt quickly and it gives a lot more clearance between the scope and bolt making it easier to grab the bolt and hold on to during the entire cycle process. When closed the knob extends down closer to the trigger making it faster to open. When the bolt is open it gives more clearance to the ocular on the scope while cycling. It takes a little getting used to because it changes the geometry enough that I found I actually short-stroked the bolt a couple of times during operation. Once I got used to it, I liked it so much I'm here to pick up the 3-stripe version to install on another 700. This is a bench top mod you can do yourself with files, a dremel, saw, vise, and tap, or haul it to your smith for about $30-40 to install. Either way, this is an easy actual improvement to a Remington 700.

I took my time and the complete install took about 2 hours. I started with a dremel tool and followed the contour lines of the bolt. Once the two width ends of the bolt were cut off, I shaped with a grinder to just over the size of a sample 5/16 bolt. I then threaded the bolt with 5/16-24NF, polished my rough edges, applied lock tight to the bolt threads, screwed on the EGW bolt knob, painted for touchup and PERFECTO. The action works great and I think this purchase was well worth the investment. Take your time and you will have a great bolt knob with a noticeable gain in leverage over the original knob. I will be ordering more EGW knobs for my other projects.

Excellent product, good price, makes chambering the next round all that much faster and easier. It's on my Rem 700 and I highly recommend it for any bolt action rifle that sees a lot of use or requires quick follow up shots. Solid work Midway, thanks.
