ProMag magazine bodies are constructed of high carbon heat-treated steel and TIG-welded for strength. The springs are precision wound using heat-treated chrome silicon wire. Bases and followers are injection molded from polymers selected for their durability. The result is quality, consistency, durability and reliability.

Nicely made. Loaded and fit well but failure to feed often. A flat nose plier tweak to the feed lips fixed this. And it is just the slightest tweak. This problem seems to come from the clearing of the case edge during normal feed and retaining cartridge during transport.

I bought this magazine for a Universal M-1. Even though its a cheap rifle, the mag fit fine. On a recent camping trip I ran it through cycle test and had NO problems at all! Fully loaded, half loaded, rapid fire, slow fire, soft points and FMJs, all rounds fed from the magazine to chamber fine. I'm buying a second mag for hunting black tail deer at short range.

As with most ProMag products this magazine was mostly junk. The locking tabs are too high on the magazine and do not lock the magazine in place as they should. As a result it allows the magazine to seat too low and your rounds will tend to hit the edge of the feed ramp and jam from time to time. I wish I could recommend another magazine available here, but there are none. I really can only recommend the original USGI.

I purchased 2 of these magazines to use in my CMP Winchester carbine. They both fit perfectly and operate flawlessly. I have no issues with feeding at all.

I had several failure to feed incidents with this magazine when used in my Inland Carbine. The magazine also failed to keep the bolt open after the last round was fired. The lips on the magazine are sharp and make it difficult load.

Each of the four magazines I loaded and fired had last-round failure-to-feed problems in my Postal Meter carbine, with the last round failing to be stripped off and go into battery - it remained stuck, pointed into the side of the feed-ramp.Only by rocking the magazine forward and slapping the forward base would it then comply. The dimples on the rear of the magazine that catch and hold the magazines in place are noticeably smaller than my GI magazine, and once in the rifle it has more opportunity to move around.
