This is an amazing tool. I wouldn't try doing any amount of brass by hand. The included electric drill chuck is mandatory in my opinion. When combined with a drill, this product does exactly what it's supposed to do and it does it fast and clean.I use this along with the Lyman Flash Hole Uniformer.Great combo for consistent primer ignition.

Tool is excellent quality as is any Redding tool I have used. Never used any of the power tool stations, just 1 case at a time by hand. Works for me. Cant go wrong with Redding. Tool cannot get out of adjustment.

Excellent uniformer in .223. I just chuck it up in a drill using the adapter. One burst, tap brass base on tool (this knocks the shavings out of the primer pocket and off the tool head), another burst and tap. Sometimes a third is needed. The taps are necessary because loading up the tool head in one long burst will simply degrade cutting performance on that case. Been holding its edge very well.

After reading about other brands of adjustable primer pocket uniformers, I decided to try this FIXED length tool from Redding, and I'm glad I did.This uniformer is an excellent, super-high-quality item. I can't find any faults with it no matter how hard I look. The handle works well, but it also comes with the 1/4 inch adapter for use on a hand drill or drill press. The cutter flutes are super-sharp and they leave a flawless finish in the pocket. It's shocking to find out how many primer pockets are out of spec, usually too shallow, but some are too deep from the factory, especially on the mixed .223 that I've accumulated over the years. I'll never regret taking the time to uniform brass. High primers are unsafe and easily remedied with this great tool. I keep re-learning the same lesson: You get what you pay for! Redding's very high quality is easily worth the price.

I suggest you NEVER consider an adjustable primer pocket uniformer! I had an adjustable one and a few of my pockets were a little too deep. That cost me a nice buck when a primer was a little too deep for the firing pin. With the Redding uniformer, you can count on Redding quality and eliminate failed ignition with a primer pocket cut too deep.

After using this tool, I'm shocked at how irregular some brass is. Better brass like Norma or Cor-Bon doesn't really need much, but run of the mill sure does. It also helps clean some of the crud out of the primer pocket, but not all. I chuck this in a cordless drill and use it without the handle. Works VERY WELL that way.
