This scope for the price is worth every penny! The optics are CLEAR, BRIGHT and SHARP. All the adjustments are well placed for easy use and the sun shade that slides in or out is a great feature. I used it at a 100 and 225 yard open range with no problems. Seeing the 30 cal. holes at 225 yds. was easy either in the white or in the black. Another pleasant surprise was the scope comes with the soft case as mentioned in Midway's description and a well built hard case that is NOT mentioned! The construction of the scope, table top tri-pod, and both the soft and hard cases are exceptional. I'm well pleased with the product's performance. What more could you ask?!

Great optics.. Clarity ...

Great optics.. Clarity quite good. However I was sadly disappointed with the very tight eye releif. If you wear glasses you will have a problem using this product due to extremely short eye releif. Product is useable. Wearing glasses put you at a huge disadvantage trying to attempt to see through scope. Seeing how tight eye releif is, I would not probably recommend eye glass wearers to purchase this item.

I bought this two weeks ago based on the reviews.It's ok but not what I expected. At 60X you have to get your eye right up to the eye peice. At 100 yards it's a little hard to see where the bullets hit the target.

Very clear optics! I could see clear hits on the target at 100 yards using 40x and shooting .22 and .17HMR. Would recommend this scope to anyone. Midway also has the best shipping, received order very quick.

The reason for the "fair" ...

The reason for the "fair" rating is not the fault of the scope. I found I cannot use it with my glasses on. If it had a little more eye relief or a diopter capability, it would be a winner for me.

I have to report that ...

I have to report that this scope has let me down. I was able to cope with the VERY short eye relief, and the narrow view at full power, because I was able to pick out .223 holes in paper at 200 yards. But after the first rainy/damp day outside with it, it hasn't been the same. Now I need very good conditions to see at 200 yards as the clarity has degraded. I also needed an angled eyepiece. So, I bought the Konus 20x60x80 scope to replace it and retired the Barska to the 100 yard range. The Konus has lots of eye relief and the larger body gathers enough light to see in poor conditions. (I've had it in the rain three times now, too.) I'd recommend spending another $100 and get the Konus.

I've owned mine since 2008. I can see .223 holes at 170 yards no problem if you turn it up to about 40x. If you turn it up much further it gets a little fuzzy. It could be my eyes getting older but I don't think so. For $89.00 on sale I can't complain. The hard case looks cheap, but protects the scope and small bench tripod that works fine. It also comes with a soft case that I haven't used , but looks ok. For someone that's just getting into shooting it's a good deal. I'm looking for something better quality, but the prices are crazy. I'm going to ask a few guys at the gun club to look through theirs first before I spend big money.

This scope will work well ...

This scope will work well for the shooter that is trying to see .22 caliber holes out to 200 yards with the power setting at about 30x. Beyond 30x power setting, clarity gets very bad. The eye relief is terrible. I've had to fold the exit pupil rubber in order to get my eye close enough to the scope to see the target as well as remove my safety glasses. I have, on several occasions, acquired a much better sight picture through my 20x Burris rifle scope than this spotting scope. The tripod is weak, flimsy, and useless. I will be selling this spotting scope and buying a higher quality one.

Must have got a bad one based on previous reviews. At 60x it is totally useless. Out of focus, can't be used at even 100 yards. I use it at 50 yards at lower power to sight in scopes but will throw it out and replace it with something else when I have the money.

While looking through the scopes I came upon this one with 25 almost all 5 star reviews. That was it for me. Midway is doing themselves a diservice by not showing all that comes with the scope. Hardcase? Yes. But a very fine hard case with metal edges, foam lined, two strong latches, good quality carrying handle, rubber feet. Soft case included. Carying strap included. Little keys for the locks included. When you pick up the box it comes in you wonder how it could be so heavy. Now you know. Scope is just what I needed to see 5.56 holes. Buy it, you will be happy and then you can submit your own 5 star review.
