The RCBS ChargeMaster Combo takes the accurate ChargeMaster Scale and Charge Master Dispenser and combines them into one unit. No longer do reloaders have to calibrate their dispensers to the type of powder being dispensed. Type in the charge weight and hit dispenses and that is all that is needed. The layout of the unit gives reloaders easy access to the scale pan by either right or left handed reloaders and the clear cover helps to eliminate fluctuations in weighting caused by air currents without obscuring the view of the powder being dispensed.

This product is unbelievable. I debated between the Lyman and RCBS and choose the RCBS ChargeMaster.I owned the older version of a separate scale and powder measure and I was pleased with its performance. The older scale did have some issues with stability.This new Chargemaster is fast, reliable, and accurate. The test I performed was 65.0 grains of H4831 40 times. 40 times it dispensed 65.0 grains. I like the way the machine has an audible beep for when it reaches its intended weight allowing users to perform other loading duties such as seating the previous loads bullet but knowing that a charge has been weighed and ready. I could have seated a bullet in the time it took for it to dispense 65.0 grains but just barley and the press would have to be very close.I am very glad I read the reviews on here before purchasing this RCBS or I may have opted for the Lyman 1200 DPS.This product performed as claimed and is fast and accurate. I would recommend this product. I cannot speak for the Lyman 1200 DPS but I know I didnt make a mistake by purchasing this RCBS ChargeMaster. One feature I thought was neat is it jogs the tube to trickle power and it works amazingly accurate.The scale can be calibrated in three steps as compared to the older scale of 4 steps. It took 14 minutes to dispense 40 loads of 65.0 grains (2 loads per minute bascially).The style of the machine is better than a separate unit like the older RCBS. The screws that hold the two parts together can be used to level the scale and powder dispenser.As with all of RCBS products it is quality made, functional, and very accurate.

I purchased a ChargeMaster 1500 as a combo in Sept. of 2005. The Unit worked ok I noticed some of the buttons seemed a little odd when pushed. Now it is hard to get a 5 I get an 8 or 0. If I want a 3 or 9 I get 6. Instead of a point I get a 7 or 4. I really like RCBS. They are what I started with 15 yrs ago with. I still like them but this item has made me take a step back and rethink. RCBS needs to do the same with regards to quality over quantity with this and maybe more of their products. I know RCBS is a good company and trying to be competitive but I would much rather pay a little more and get a good product. From what I've read here I don't think I'm the only one. At this time I don't recommend this product.

I've been using my Charge Master for over a year now and I absolutely love it. I check it from time to time on my balance scale and it throws charges within 1/10th of a grain high or low. Considering that I've pulled bullets from factory loads and weighed their charges at more than a full grain spread, the accuracy of the Charge Master is excellent. I've had zero trouble with my unit and highly recommend it to my fellow reloaders.

I purchased this over 5 years ago. The touch pad failed, so I could not enter weights or calibrate the scale. The scale and dispenser still worked. I sent it to RCBS with a check for $45.00. They promptly returned a new unit. I am happy. Hopefully I will get many thousands of loads from the new one as I did from the first unit.

I load both rifle and pistol rounds so it was important to me that this product be capable of precise and repeatable throws. This powder dispenser was very easy to set up and calibrate, but I was concerned about it's consistency after reading other reviews so I decided to actually count the powder granules in each charge. I powered on the chargemaster, let it sit for half an hour to warm the load cells, then calibrated as per the manual. After loading the hopper with IMR 4895 I entered 7.8 grains as the desired weight and counted each of the three charges. 386, 378, and 383 were the granule counts for each charge. Considering that one tenth of a grain is around a dozen granules of this particular powder I'd say that the charges are certainly consistent and I am very happy with the overall functionality of this product.

Just what I expected,

I started reloading using the Frankford Arsenal DS-750. The Frankford is a great little scale, especially for the money. After reloading for about 6 months, I wanted to upgrade to a dispenser/scale that would help to speed up my reloading process. I decided to purchase a Lyman dispenser/scale combo and had to send it back because it was very inconsistent and unreliable. The customer support staff at Midway allowed me to return the Lyman, and gave me a credit toward another scale. I decided to upgrade my purchase to this RCBS. I am not disappointed. I really like this scale. It is very easy to calibrate and use. Simple operation, I calibrate it each time I use it, then all I have to do is key in the charge weight, and press the dispense button and the chargemaster does the rest. I have used it to charge cases for my rifles and pistols using flake, ball and stick powders. Extremely accurate! However, I have found that when using large stick powders, it will occasionally (maybe 1 out of 10 times) overcharge by 1/10th of a grain when loading small charges for my .357/.38 or 9mm. For me, this is just a minor inconvenience. I've used this scale for almost a year without experiencing any problems with it. I would buy another one tomorrow if I needed it. I like this scale because it is fast, accurate, consistent and I trust it.

Great scale and dispenser. Nails the weight every time to within 1/10. DO NOT have a fan blowing nearby or perform any other reloading tasks on the same bench as it will effect the results. Also, place a piece of paper under and to the right of the unit as YOU WILL forget to close the drain chute and end up with your next powder choice on the bench.

I had been thinking about and looking at digital scales, and reading the reviews. So,when my wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday I told her and gave her the page printed from the Midway USA website describing the Chargemaster 1500 Combo.I received it a few days later, and had it set up in a matter of minutes. After entering my charge data and pushing the dispense button, I was amazed at how easy, accurate, and fast (about 30 sec) it was. I checked it against my 10-10 balance beam scale and found it to be accurate to within 0.1gn as RCBS claims. Then I was almost startled after I poured the first charge into my first empty case and set the pan back on the scale. After settling on zero, it started automatically to dispense the next charge, and kept count of the number of each subsequent charge, amazing. After checking the first few, I was confident in the repeated accuracy and discontinued the 10-10 balance beam check. I received a metal pan with my instrument, and had zero problem with static as I had read others speak of. This is the most incredible piece of reloading equipment ever. It has taken the drudgery out of reloading and made it much more fun. I can't tell you how pleased I am with this product. Great job, RCBS and Midway USA! Thanks!!!

So far, so good on this one. The first didn't work out of the box - software problem. They replaced it, but the second one is quirky - software again. When it works, it works fine, but I am using it on manual and not trying to use the unworkable memory feature. The concept is great, the engineering to make it workable is not so great. A small annoyance in this day of graphic displays is the anemic digital readout which is hard to read. RCBS should really do an overhaul of this product's design and manufacture.

I cannot say this is a horrible product, when it works, it works great. When it doesnt, it cannot be trusted. Purchased it 3 years ago and probably only used it to load 300 or 400 rounds tops. Probably not enough to justify the price. Then the scale stopped returning to zero, even though it was calibrated multiple times. Downside is it made in china and only comes with a 1 year warranty. I would call it typical cheap crap made in china, but its not cheap.

The is one of the few items that I have thoroughly enjoyed using right out of the box. Set up and calibration is done in minutes and you are dispensing to weight. I use it for all rifle loads and hunting pistol loads. I do find the powder measure to be quicker for target weight pistol loads and use the scale to check every tenth load. I highly recommend this unit to the precision minded reloader.
