Lee 2-Cavity Bullet Molds are a great choice for reloaders looking for a quality mold at an affordable price. Lee machines their mold blocks from aluminum making them rust resistant. Aluminum molds heat up and cool down faster than iron or steel molds and good bullets can usually be produced only after a few casts. In addition, aluminum blocks are one-third the weight of iron or steel mold blocks offering the bullet caster less fatigue during extended casting sessions. To ensure the best possible bullets, mold block halves are CNC machined for unmatched roundness and size control. Weights given are Lee's weights with suggested alloy; actual weight may vary due to the alloy mixture used.

This is the best .45 Colt bullet I've used so far. The mold fills more reliably than the SWC types and this one shoots great in both my Vaquero and Marlin Cowboy. No sizing needed; just cast 'em, lube 'em, load 'em, and shoot 'em.

I have three Lee molds and have cast thousands of bullets over the last 25-30 years, all have been great until I bought this one. One of the cavities produces a perfect bullet, the other produces a little bit of an off-set or mis-matched bullet, yet the bullet still shoots fairly good.

I love these Lee molds. Make nice plinker, fun loads for my Ruger Blackhawk. Molds make good bullits from the start, Bullets drop out easily and are beautiful.

This mold threw good looking bullets, but they were undersized with WWeight lead: .451. I replaced it with the 252 g. SWC Lee, that's a good one.

I have had some problems ...

I have had some problems with this mold. It is uneven and both sides will not line up unless I place them on an even surface and then close the mold. If I do not place mold on even surface and then close it, the bullets will come out deformed in many different ways. Despite these imperfections I would have to say the mold was worth the 19.49 price tag. I havent had any problems with varying bullets between bullet cavities and having to place the mold on the table during the process is only a slight inconvenience once I got use to it. Lee claims that this mold heats up faster than other molds but I have noticed no difference. The bullets shoot accurately and the grease groves hold my homemade lube well, which noticeably reduces barrel fouling from the standard 45 long colt 250 grn lead Remington ammo I originally used. I would have given this mold a 3.5 rating if it was possible, but I couldnt give it 4 stars due to the problems mentioned above. I will continue to buy lee bullet molds; their price is worth their inconveniences. I have three additional lee molds and they all perform fine. Their bullets shoot accurately and that is all I can ask of a bullet mold. If I didnt have custom molds for my sharps I would not notice or be affected by the slight imperfections with this mold. I have to say my other two lee molds have not displayed the problems that this one has, which is why I will continue to buy lee molds over their more expensive counter parts when I find a design I like. I hope this helps, happy hunting and good shooting.

I purchased the Lee mold for my 1858 44 cal new army revolver along with the lee sizing die .452. I check the bullet diameter after casting and found the actual size was .452 to .453. I was very happy with the results. No sizing required. The cast mold worked as advertised. The only thing different from the instruction prep. I smoked my blocks every 20 round or so and found I was casting a lot smoother bullet and never had a frost problem For the price you would expect less but with the Lee mold I got a great deal. I have other molds which also are lee brand. Never had a problem with any one of them. Good job Lee.

I just recently started casting bullets and bought this mold, as well as Lee's 300 grain .452 caliber mold. Im sold. They both cast good bullets within the first half dozen pours and are casting a gnat's hair over .453 and a little bit heavier (262 grains in this mold) using Lyman #2 formula lead so I know Ill buy other Lee molds when I need them.

Don't know what happened ...

Don't know what happened here, but the mold I received was terrible. All of my bullets have "wings" no matter how tight the mold is squeezed, the bullets drop out of the mold a .468, the bullets are out of round, and one side of the nose is longer than the other where the mold blocks are uneven. No dancing on the nose of these. I will be sending this mold back to MidwayUSA and hopefully get a new mold that is within specs. I hope this was a fluke on Lee's part and isn't indicative of all their molds.

Have had this mold for 2 years. It's a gem. Casts very round 0.457" bullets after only 3 attempts after full warm-up. I load this for my cherished 45 Colt SA revolver and it shoots very accurate. I also load this for my 454 Casull Redhawk revolver. I found a way to install gas checks on the bullet using a Hornady Camlock press mounted bullet puller. Insert the bullet's bottom driving band into the puller's collet fingers and squeeze it just enough so can install a gas check by hand. Then crimp the gas check like the usual. I've fired the bullet to 1,700fps - no leading or problem. Hooray!!

I have used this mold for years casting bullets for my 45LC pistol and rifle. I get excellent accuracy from both firearms using these bullets usually unsized. Mold is easy to use and made well. I have about 6 different Lee molds and you can't beat the price you pay for them to get excellent bullets.

Nice bullet design, very accurate, if you follow the instructions and have your alloy at about 800 degrees if you ladle or 750 degrees if you bottom pour this mold will do it's job. My second set of two came out perfect. If you size and lube with a Seaco lube sizer, top punch Midway # 815-030 or Seaco # 45015 will do a nice job with no nose distortion.

I bought this mold to feed my Marlin Cowboy 45 colt. Scrounged lead heated over an old camp stove and I made beautiful bullets. No sizing, used lee liquid bullet lube and the next day I was shooting these over my favorite Unique Powder load. Good product, follow directions, VERY EASY to use.
