Outstanding product. I reload for a 32 Winchester Special model 94 that was made in 1942 and found no problems using this bullet. I load for around 2000 fps using Benchmark and shoot solid groups at 100 yds.

After loading and shooting a couple hundred rounds using these bullets, I wondered why my accuracy wasn't what it should be. I used my calipers and found that the average bullet diameter was .320 (.321 is what this caliber calls for). The Hornady bullets shoot OK, they retain a high amount of mass and expand well.

I use this bullet in a Marlin 1893 .32-40 short rifle (20" 'Special Smokeless Steel' barrel, full length magazine) that has a groove diameter of .318". The rifle is vintage of about 1912 and it has a good bright bore. I roll a new cannelure onto the bullets so they can be crimped at the proper .32-40 overall cartridge length. These bullets measure .320" in diameter and with H-4895 powder the five-shot groups from a bench rest are consistently 1 1/4" to 1 5/16" with open iron sights. The MV measures 1,997 fps. I tried Re-7, IMR-3031, and IMR-4064 powders, but H-4895 produces the smallest groups.

Excellent! Measured at .320" is perfect for an obsolete .32 Remington 14-A with a "finger nail safety" that belonged to my grandfather. Keeping the FPS around 1800 with 3031 is a great load on White Tails on the farm. Performance is great with one shot in the lungs has been the norm.
