Lee Precision has been producing some of the highest quality reloading equipment for over 50 years. Their Deluxe 3-Die Sets for rifle cartridges are no different. They are made to tight tolerances to help reloaders make consistent and accurate ammunition. These die sets are perfect for both beginning and seasoned reloaders. Each die is made of steel and the set comes with a full length sizing die, collet neck sizing die and bullet seating die. Reloaders use the full length sizing die to produce ammunition to factory-new specifications using new brass or brass cases that were fired in other guns. Full length sizing dies are also great for the reloader who wants to ensure each round loaded will chamber in their rifle with ease. The collet neck sizing die allows reloaders to produce ammunition that has been fire-formed to the chamber of that rifle. Since only the neck is sized more force may be required to get each round to chamber but brass life is extended and a lot of reloaders see an increase in accuracy. This set also includes a bullet seating die, shellholder, powder dipper, storage box and load data.

I made 20 rounds and the decapping pin broke. I emailed LEE and its been 5 days and I have not heard back. I replaced it with a RCBS Die. Now if I manage to break a pin, I have a whole bag of extra's to back me up. RCBS would only not have answered me back by now, they would have shipped me new dies.

I've been reloading for a year now with Lee dies. .45ACP, .45 Colt, 7mm Rem Mag and now .223 Rem & 5.56 NATO. The rifle dies work good but they aren't carbide. Seating depths are accurate and consistent. If you can't reload accurate, consistent rounds with these dies, the problem isn't the dies.

The only issue I have is the de-priming pin on the full length resizing die isn't the strongest. Even that isn't an issue unless you are trying to de-prime crimped military cases. If you are, do yourself a favor and get a replacement decapping rod #397525.

If you want any level of precision, these dies will NOT get you there! Save a few more $ and get a good micrometer die set, you will be much happier with the final results. These wear out VERY quickly and do more damage to your cases than good. The seating die is a complete waste of time and effort due to the "Dead length" feature. It does not allow you to seat at any depth shorter than 2.260", which will NOT work for magazine fed weapons! Don't waste you money on these dies...

I have several sets of Lee Deluxe dies including 223. Some of my handgun die sets I purchased 20 years ago and they are still working fine, putting out accurate & reliable ammo. With zero broken parts on all of them. You cannot find a better set of dies for any cost. Except perhaps micrometer bullet seaters and all you will gain is to be able to write down a setting when you change bullet types. Reloading is as expensive as you want to make it. The idea is to save money. A blue fool and his money soon part ways.

This is for those that Reload for the AR with the NATO chamber. I have Two AR's a Smith MP15 and a SIG M400 Hunter. Both have 5.6 x 45 chambers. I have put over 300 rounds of Lee Collet neck sized cases thru both, with no problems. You may want to try this. It's way easier than full length sizing and no Lube.

This is my 5th set of Lee dies and this particular set is of horrible quality. After using the full sizing die for approx 40 cases 1 became so badly stuck a torch was required to heat the case to remove it. The de-capping pin snapped off almost immediately. Carbide is supposed to be stronger than that. I switched to the collet die to continue de-capping the cases and it snapped off after 10 cases!!!! I'm waiting for Lee to contact me in response to my e-mail.

This was my first set of dies, along with a Lee factory Crimp Die and a Auto-Disk Rifle Powder Charging Die. I have these on a Lee Classic Turret Press. The expander does a good job once set right, but the bullet seater leaves a lot to be desired. I have big hands and when loading flat base bullets it is very hard to keep the bullet straight while seating it. Out of the first 50 rounds, 10 went in crooked, causing bulging on the necks and bent rounds. Although while loading Boat tails, it worked a lot better. I ordered a Forster Bench Rest Seater Die, due to the built in guides that maintain proper bullet / case alignment.

I reloaded about 500 rounds of 223's with excellent results. I have used Lee dies exclusively for over 20 years and never had a die failure. I've used Lee's to reload 30-30, 7mm, 243, 223, 40S&W, 38, and 357.

Have used Lee dies for many years and have always been satisfied with them. A year or so ago, I started reloading .223 ammo for my AR-15. Had considerable trouble with the rounds sticking in the chambers. Talked to Lee Customer service and sent the die back to them. They replaced it and now I'm satisfied with the final product. I still take every resized case (before reloading it) and test fit them in the chamber of my AR, just to be sure. I'm about done with that step, since I just don't get any "stickers" anymore. I have done some statistical analysis on COL using both Lee and RCBS dies. They come out very similar, but the Lee die gives slightly better results at lower cost. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth...... The RCBS small base resizing die gives very good results with about a .003" smaller shoulder diameter, but is not worth the added cost for me. My AR loves the Lee reloaded ammo and I'm done experimenting.

I may have reviewed these before but I just bought a concentricity gauge. I haven't found one round more than .001" out of round (100rds measured) I mainly use only the sizing die out of the set but it must be working as I was amazed at these readings. I am using Lapua brass and SMKs but still the die is doing its job. Sure it leaves some lines on case neck but who cares. I'm shooting 1/2" or better out of match AR.
