I just installed this on my Satern AR barrel. The fit is VERY tight. I am not a fan of freezing the barrel and heating the gas block to make them fit. If its too tight to install under normal conditions, then using this method will cause a permanent mating between the barrel and gas block since there will be no way to heat the block separately once they are together. Since I do not have access to a reamer, I installed it as is. Installation required tapping it on with a copper hammer for about an hour, after lubing the gas block and barrel with a boron-nitride dry lube. Keep in mind that it took this long to install it and the diameter of my barrel steps down about 1/8th of an inch, one inch in front of the gas block area. Had it not been for this, I would have been at it all night and there is a good chance I would have messed up the finish on my barrel. Now that the installation is over with it looks nice and is not going anywhere. My barrel came with one set-screw hole already drilled, so I am going to leave it that way. The steel is impressively hard. I can see only a slight rounding of the two edges that I hammered on. The set screws that come with it are way too long so I will shorten them using a drill and file. All in all, it's decent. I would probably cough up the extra $15 and get the clamp on version next time.

Well made, good finish ...

Well made, good finish and tight fit (had to heat to install but could have been the barrel). One thing I wish I was aware of before I ordered is the set screws are longer than the gas block is thick. Per their instructions, Badger wants you drill holes in your barrel for the screws to recess into. I was *not* going to drill a new $550 match barrel just for a gas block so I shortened the set screws instead. Works perfectly just like all my other ARs with similarly installed gas blocks.
