Product Information

Made from hardened tool steel and parkerized. Service rifle legal! Has the same appearance and configuration as original; CMP 4th Edition #4-13-2-b. By adjusting the volume of gas in the cylinder you change the speed of the op-rod and the harmonics of the barrel. If you want to tame things down, it can be opened up just enough to function, or opened fully for single shot functionality. If you are working on your own hand loads, a quarter turn WILL affect group size. If you have a 308 Garand this is a necessity if you want to safely shoot heavier 168 grain match bullets. Also a must have if you hunt with your CMP Garand but want to shoot heavier 30-06 loads. Includes instructions and the adjustment tool (Allen wrench). Made in the USA. Lifetime factory warranty.

Schuster has added a hollow locking setscrew in front of the original setscrew to keep the screws from vibrating loose.

I bought one of these to use in my .308 Garand that was having short-stroke issues. It is the newer style with the set screw to lock the adjustment. Once I set the adj screw properly it worked flawlessly. It had the added benefit of lowering my open-sight group size from 4-5 inches to 3-4 inches with surplus 7.62x51 ammo.

This product has possibilities and works fine for a few rounds, then it seems to work loose and I constantly have to readjust it. I've heard great stuff about these, perhaps I just got a faulty one. It looks great, I wish it worked as well. But as I said, my experience seems to be an aberration. [MidwayUSA note: the owner of Schuster read this review and has added a locking setscrew above the original setscrew in the gas plugs to correct the problem of the screws working loose.]

This is a must have for any Garand. It allows me to shoot ANY .30-06 ammo, whether modern factory loads or my custom handloads without worry of bending the op-rod. also allows me to tune the accuracy with a simple turn of a screw.
ONLY USE SAAMI APROVED PUBLISHED DATA FOR HANDLOADING, EVEN WITH THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!!

Excellent product, have one for each of my rifles, 308 and '06. Can store in the buttstock with other accessories and easy to change out with the stock plug and use when needed when shooting heavier bullets.

I had not used my NM M1's in years but I just had to bring my 7.62/308 out of the gun safe and try this plug in a high power match. Back at 600 yards in the slow prone stage, I fired a 193-10X and know what else....my fired brass was all within reach and anyone that has ever owned/fired a 308 M1 Garand knows the lighter 308 case really flies in all directions and most are lost! The plug was easy to install and adjust. I did not need the locking set screw. Buy one of these and start enjoying your M1 rifles again. BTW, these are not legal in the "as issued" CMP Garand matches.

A must have for the HOTTER M2 ball reloads. Sturdy and very well made. A bit of a pain to get em tight, and it would've been nice to have a tool that comes with it. Anyway, 5 stars as I can amp up my M2 ball rounds and NO bent rods!

I have very little gunsmithing experience, and this was very easy to install and dial in. It took me 4 rounds of 180 grain Federal Hi Shock to get the round to eject cleanly, then another 16 rounds to prove it kept working properly. This little product will allow me a lot of reloading versatility with my M1.

Outstanding product, I will order one or two more.....Ran 15 rounds of Federal .30-06 150 Gr softpoints though one of my Garands in stages and dialed the plug in as per instructions. Functions perfectly. No malfunctions and great groups after I found the "sweet spot". This is a must have if you shoot anything other than M-2 ball in a Garand.

I've recently built a Garand in .243 Win caliber and used this gas plug to adjust for gas volume and function. Worked great and exactly as advertised, rifle feeds and extracts as it should with no battering of the receiver or op rod. Ordering another one today!
