Purchased a new Colt ...

Purchased a new Colt 1911-22 Rail and had failures to chamber and fire with all types of ammunition. The Menck Chamber Ironing Tool resolved all my problems and saved me the expense of returning the pistol for warranty service. Glad it is in my Midway Range Bag!

My Browning Buckmark has ...

My Browning Buckmark has a bad habit of lightly peening the breech of the barrel just above the chamber, making casings stick some. A quick turn of this tool and all is right again.

Disclaimer: I am not a gunsmith. What you read below is a description of how I used this tool. If you follow these steps, you agree to do so at your own risk AND you indemnify me from any and all liability.My Ithaca 49 would eject unfired rounds but failed to eject fired ones. I totally disassembled, cleaned and inspected all parts. Ejector and ejector trip lever in good shape. As were the related springs.. Problem still existed. I purchased the Menck Ironing Swage. Rather than dissemble the gun (which I have done before but would not recommend if you are NOT experienced), I elected to put a bore cleaning rod from the muzzle to the chamber and screwed the ironing tool onto it. Lightly lubricated the tool. Padded the rod with a piece of leather and clamped a set of locking pliers up close to the handle at the bore end of the rod. Had gun clamped in a gun vice, pulled the rod real snug into the chamber and rotated clockwise with right hand while applying pressure to the other end of the tool (in the receiver) with my left hand. Made 4 or 5 rotations. Removed tool from rod and rod from gun. Test fired and WAMO ejected like a new gun. AN EXCELLENT TOOL !!! SHOULD WORK ON RIM FIRE GUNS THAT HAVE 'OLD' SOFT STEEL BARRELS/CHAMBERS.

This has saved a few of my rifles from being trading fodder. Used properly, this has returned function for sure, and accuracy in some applications. I have used this on semi and bolt rifles, with great success. This is a "must have", especially if you love older classic rifles.

This is a great tool to fix chamber troubles (ie. hard to eject casings due to dry firing rimfire pistols and rifles). I bought a nice used S+W 22 but could barely empty fired casings. A few turns of the tool refaced the cylinder and the gun is sweet. A great quick fix for slightly damaged guns. Most gunsmiths didnt even know it existed.

Through many years of use my Anschutz 1415 developed a little dint on the top of the chamber. This was causing failures to extract and some times failures to feed. I was contemplating sending it to a gunsmith to fix and was really dreading having to pay $65 service fee for such a small problem. Then I saw this Rimfire Ironing Swage tool on the Midway web page and though I'll try it. IT WORKS!! Insert it in the chamber turn it a few times, job is done!I'd give it five stars but heck, there could always be something I missed :-)
