I have been using the same set of these picks for about 9 months without breaking any. I treat them like plastic, not steel. They are extremely handy for getting into small spaces in and around slide rails, forcing cones, bolt parts, grooves and crevices. Some are extremely pointed and punch through traditional cleaning patches, however. There is one particular tool I use constantly. I generally clean 2-3 guns, thoroughly, per week, with 4 guns after a monthly competition.

I agree with Tony, these picks are very fragile. I have broken two of them so far and was not being very forceful at all when they broke. One broke when I was trying to clean the slide on my pistol. The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is that they are still very handy to get in to those tight places.

These are great for getting into hard to reach areas and crevices. Add a patch and clean any place your fingers can't go. They are plastic so don't expect to do much prying or major forcing with them but they are great for getting light weight springs and plungers down and out of the way. I would definitely recommend them

Have worked well and held up after many uses. I bought a second set anticipating breaking one here or there (per other reviews) but have had no problems after several months. I use primarily for cleaning cosmoline out of tight spaces (picks alone or pick with patch).

Poorest Rating. Not sturdy. Mine snapped on only second use. Not good for gun cleaning detail usage that I bought them for. Obviously won't scratch metal but not durable.

Look no further. These are the ones you want. Better product, more durable, even if you do break one, they are not outrageously priced. I had gone through 5 sets of a competitors brand and there's no comparrison for quality. I am hard on them but these really hold up within reason. I haven't found a Tipton product yet that I didn't like.

Great tools for light duty use. I only use two of them with regular frequency. They work great for chemical application/removal where heavy scrubbing or scraping is not required. The only thing that would make them better is if they were constructed of a polymer resin or acrylic material to increase their ability to be used more aggressively. FWIW, I have been using mine for about six months and haven't broken any of them yet.

Really nice set. They'll get into all those tiny groves. Much safer than using old dental picks, which can scratch you firearm. I highly recommend.

These do exactly what they are supposed to do - let you get into those tight spots and clean out gunk. Sure you have to use a light touch, but light touch works just fine for me. Best of all, no fear of scratching the finish.
