These grips are made of soft rubber with a cobblestone (stippled) surface for good grip control. Black.

Please note:Conversion grips convert a round butt frame to a square butt feel or vice versa.

Technical Information

Material: Soft rubber with synthetic insert

Finish: Stippled surface, not checkered

Fits: Ruger Blackhawk, Single 6 and Vaquero with XR3-RED, XRN-3, XRN-3RED frames. Will not fit frames stamped "XR3" with no suffix.

Also fits Super Blackhawk with round trigger guard.

Will not fit the Super Blackhawk Hunter

Notes:

The best money I've every spent on grips. The grips that came with my New Model Ruger Blackhawk (.357) were not exactly a handfull. When I easily installed the Houge grips, I knew right away these should be standard equiptment for this gun! You won't be sorry you bought one of these!!

Wow. How to rate this. ...

Wow. How to rate this. It's tough. Pros: I have a small hand with long fingers but these over sized grips with finger grooves made shooting magnum loads a pleasure. With the original grips I could only shoot 10 Keith loads before my Super Blackhawk painfully bruised my hand. I shot 50 on my last range trip with these.Cons: Read the 1 star reviews. These do not fit stainless Super Blackhawks which mine is. I battered it into place and it took several minutes to align the screw with the connector. The steel grip frame sticks out about 1/16 th of an inch from the rear of the grip. For me, a non issue but for others it could mean a world of difference for your personal comfort.In a nutshell, it is workable for me but does not fit a stainless Super Blackhawk by a long shot. Also, if you have an in grip lock Ruger, these grips will not fit at all so remove your grips and check that before buying. Therefore, 3 stars as it's a good product for me but poor fit and finish that doesn't work for everyone.

This grip is comfortable ...

This grip is comfortable and provides room for your pinky finger. My new model blackhawk has the internal lock and I had no problems with that. The metal clip will scrath the paint on the grip frame pretty bad if your gun is blued. The back of the grip frame protrudes about 1/8" from the back of the grip. There is a gap at the top of the grip on each side. This grip makes SA revolvers look ugly. I returned it and bought Pachmayr Presentation grips.

After reading how the old ones don't fit the new internal lock frames, and reading on Hogue's website that the new ones will, I rolled the dice & picked up a set for my new IL equipped Blackhawk convertible. Well, I had them installed in about 3 minutes & they are a perfect fit. Can't wait to try it with stout loads!

Love Midway but they need to update the description for this item! Checked with Hogue in early March 2012 and they confirmed that this grip has been modified to now fit the new Blackhawk's with internal grip lock. Ordered one and it took all of 15 minutes to read the inswtructions and install it on my 2011 Convertable Blackhawk in .45 LC/.45ACP. Great grip!!

Had I not just installed three similar Super BH grips (which took a total of about eight minutes) and instead tried this one first, I might have sent the whole order back after 45 minutes battling with this grip. The instructions were nearly illegible, fine black print on dark blue paper, and left out some crucial steps. The little cross-pin was very hard to get into place (requiring a slim needle-nose pliers) and the little nut and clip fell out and only a miracle glimpse kept them from disappearing forever under the clothes dryer in the garage. When I finally got the grip and stirrup in place, I could not engage the threads of the screw because there was too much clearance and the screw could not reach and engage the nut, instead pushing it out of the way. Finally I rolled a small piece of paper towel and stuffed it between the stirrup and the frame, after which the screw engaged and tightened properly. Only one star for installation and instructions!I still give the grip itself 4 stars, though, because of its marvelous comfort and performance when finally installed. It made a huge difference in stability and recoil control on our vintage flattop .357 Blackhawk with stainless Old Army grip frame. However, Hogue should print the instructions on light-colored paper, in larger type, and include all the steps (including perhaps the suggestion of a rolled-paper-towel shim under the stirrup!) Paper is cheaper than customer curses.

A snap to put on and really increases accuracy and stability in hand. Check you frame type first by taking off stock handle before ordering this. If you have the internal lock, may not fit. Took me less than 5 mins to install on my "new" model w/o internal lock.

Just got these for my Super Blackhawk . The only problem I had with the install was the writing on the instructions was small. Once I got past that with some help with a magnifer the rest was easy. Love the feel and they fit my larger hand to a T. Wlill be shooting with them soon and am sure they will make a differance.

This is a nice grip if you can get it on, but the way you have to mount it on a ruger single six causes scratch on the grip frame. Directions are vague on this particular gun. After I finally got it on its fine - good feel - but I would never put on a new gun because of the scratching it does as you install it. Guns that have a place to install the pin shouldn't have as much problem.

Nice grip, easy to install (be sure to remove the old grips and check the grip model before ordering) seems like most of the negative reviews regard fitting and not function. This is a solid grip with great purchase. It does move the pistol higher in my hand which takes getting used to but not a problem. Definitely reduces felt recoil and doesn't look too bad IMO. I've got a 4 5/8" Blackhawk 45 LC and when you pick it up you know you are holding some serious gun. I'm thinking about putting one on my 357 Blackhawk.
