Not sure why but shell ...

Not sure why but shell casings stuck in barrel after firing the round. Same rifle performs flawlessly with Lapau and Federal ammo.

My Sako TRG 42 does not ...

My Sako TRG 42 does not like the Hornady 250gr or 285gr. Sure wish it did because the Hornady is less expensive (except for Prvi), I was hitting a 16"x24" plate with every round of Federal GMM and Black Hills , switched to the Hornady and couldn't hit the same target at all, I did throw some dirt on it. Hope this saves someone out there some cash. It is good to just shoot at 100 yards for those who just want to say they have shot a 338 Lapua but accuracy in my rifle past 250 was not very good.

I have pictures to prove ...

I have pictures to prove 3/8 groups at 385yards (longest shot I can take on my farm) I couldn't do better than 2.185in at the same yardage with the 300gr lapua screeners. The host gun was a Barrett 98b.

Dropped a huge 5yr old 5 ...

Dropped a huge 5yr old 5 pt buck (gene pool management) @ 300 yds. Shot was within 1" of aim point. Shredded both lungs found it 50 yds away (10 over 40 straight down, his revenge, thank god for winches) only complaint tips somewhat distorted on all 4 boxes purchased (don't know it is typical)

This is excellent ammunition. Although a bit slower (5 round avg 3042fps) than the Lapua Scenar 250gr (5 round average 3187), the Hornady ammo had half the standard deviation (75.12 vs the Lapua at 155.9). I was surprised that the more expensive Lapua ammo was not as consistent as the Hornady ammo. I still shoot both brands but prefer the Hornady as its more consistent and cheaper.

Ammo shot very well in 338 Lapua. Only used 100 and 200 yard ranges, capable of 1000 yards or more. At range tested held 1/4 inch 5 shot groups.
