This heavy-duty magazine is designed to significantly increase reliability and service life, even when kept fully-loaded for extended periods of time. Die-controlled tolerances are held to +/- .001" which is over 75% tighter than magazines made to military specifications. The extra-stiff coils of aerospace grade wire produce more power than other magazines. The base pad and plate is removable for convenient cleaning and maintenance.

I have owned my Colt Double Eagle (1911 style with da/sa trigger) for over 5 years. I have bought many mags for this gun. The factory mag works very well but not designed for cleaning. These power mags can be cleaned very easily by pushing the button and removing the base. All you need is a little screwdriver. These mags feed better and are easier to load then stock. The number of rounds is easy to see with the numbers clearly stamped on the side. You can keep the clip loaded for months at a time without the spring wearing out at all. I have owned one mag for 2.5 years now and its always loaded. Still works like new. Quality all the way. Best mags on the market for your 1911, no doubt about it!

I bought based on the ...

I bought based on the great reviews, but I wasn't so impressed. While fumbling with the follower I pushed it forward with my finger enough the follower and spring pushed (shot) out the top of the magazine. There isn't a retainer on the front of the follower, so forward motion of the follower isn't limited. I'll use it as a spare at the range but will pick followers with skirts as my favorite. Yes, I wasn't doing the magazine as it would be in service, but the four (other brands) I have with follower skirts can't have this problem.

These mags are one of the few 1911 mags I would trust my life with. These are one of the two brands of mags (along with sig sauer branded 1911 mags) that I compete with. I have 1911's of different brands that will only reliably function with these mags. Buy ten. I'm serious.

These mags fit and worked without any failure to perform in a new Ruger 1911 and an older Norinco 1911. Approx. 200 rounds through each pistol with no magizine related stoppages. Can't ask for more than that.

You can feel the quality of these magazines when loading the cartridges! Totally superior to the Kimbers (the one I tried sounded and felt like an old metal spring bed from the fifties). McCormick's are top quality in all aspects.

The follower has issues, and according to the instructions, care must be exercised when loading. Even following the instructions, 3 of 8 rounds nosedived when feeding. Not confidence inspiring in a self-defense pistol. I also purchased a CMC Match Grade Mag, and experienced the same nose-diving, only with 2 of the 8 rounds. The WC mags I bought at the same time operated flawlessly.

I love these McCormick magazines. The springs are strong and durable. I have over 500 rounds through them without a single failure. Easy loading and a snap to clean up. The price makes them that much more of a deal. Reliable product, I recommend them highly.

I purchased my Kimber Custom II 5 years ago along with 5 of these mags. I have put 10,000+ rounds through my Kimber, all with these mags and never had a single problem. Also, at least 2 of them have been fully loaded for the better part of those 5 years, and still have no problems.

Purchased these mags recently. Thought they would be top of the line magazines but was proven wrong. I tried a few of these mags in my Kimber and springfield 1911 pistols and immediately noticed that the follower would not activate the slide stop when racking back the slide. Also if you push forward with your thumb the follower and spring will come flying out of the magazine body. Sorry , but I cannot recommend these for serious use.
