The level works well and ...

The level works well and the product seems to be well made, but I have two complaints. First, the lines that mark the center position of the bubble need to be a bit thicker. They are simply hard to see in low light conditions. Second, I appreciate a sturdy build, but I use this on one rifle that has a picatinny rail and low rings and the bottom part of the clamp is so thick that I had to cut off part of it just to get it to fit between the base and the bottom of the scope tube. Also, unless you're using some pretty tall rings, you can forget about installing this without removing the scope, as you won't be able to get the clamp between the base and scope. On the plus side, I prefer the offset design versus an inline level, because with the offset I can mount it in front of the scope turrets so as to not block the view of the scope knobs, yet it is still easy to see the level with my non-shooting eye.

I bought this for a 50 ...

I bought this for a 50 BMG (McMillan Tac 50) and put it on a Nightforce scope. I have a Mounting Solutions Plus anti-cant device on another Nightforce on a 7mm Rem Mag. Within the first month the 50 BMG recoil dislodged the bubble level from the mount on the Vortex. I was able to superglue it back in, but I'm not buying another, I'll buy the Mounting Solutions or the Holland. After the reviews on the US Optics, there's no way I'm spending that money on that one. I'll review the mounting solutions one later this month - buying two, one for a Barrett, one for a 300 RUM.

This is a good product, I liked the offset of the bubble that you can see with your non-firing eye. The downside is that the product is a bit bulky, not too heavy, just bulky, I would buy again if I needed to.

The Vortex bubble level is a great level. Quick and easy to install, works as intended. The level is a little bulky; this is the only reason it does not get 5 starts. If you are mounting on a 30mm scope with a side parallax knob , it works well. Does not stick out too far to be in the way. I am right handed, and set my level offset to the left side bewteen the front scope ring and the turret of the scope, to be viewed with my left eye when in a shooting position. Level is bright and easy to see/read. You do not have to lift your head from the rifle to read the level. I have these Vortex levels mounted on both a 338 RUM and a 338 Win Mag, no movement and no affects from recoil. I ended up using a carpenters 2' level on top of the vertical turret, the mounting the Vortex level to match. Not too bad, but 3 hands would be handy. It might be worth mentioning, that if you are not shooting past 400 yards or so, a level is not really needed (for most hunting situations) it is more helpful the longer the range. I typically do not put levels on rifles that are intended to be shot under 400 yards. I own several of each the Vortex and the Mounting Solutions Plus in both 30mm and 1", given the choice between the two, I would pick the Vortex every time.

A little bulky almost ...

A little bulky almost need high rings to mount if your scope is already on the rifle but works great with both eyes open I can see the level and crosshairs and verify the rifle is level before I shoot. Liked it so much I bought two.

Great product. I used other anti-cant devices that attach to the rail, but found them vulnerable to getting broken off. This one mounts nicely behind and is protected by the scope turrets. It can be easily seen with the left eye while in position behind the scope (in my case a Leupold MK 4 with illumination battery turret).
