Having read all the ...

Having read all the previous reviews, I ordered a set of Lee 400 Cor-Bon dies, all of the previous reviews specify using new 45 auto cases except for one guy saying he tried using used cases and had problems, I used several used 45 cases and had no problems, but forming your own cases with regular 45 auto cases might cause problems, Starline which is the only maker of 400 Cor-Bon cases so far uses a 45+P case with thicker base and side walls. I for one will buy 45+P cases just to be on the safe side. Keep the dies coming Lee.

Don't waste your time and money searching for the ultimate dies. The Lee is good enough or even better than most expensive dies. I've used this for 2 years. No problem so far. Lee is the best

Great set of dies. I'm ...

Great set of dies. I'm now reloading 400 corbon for a minimal expense. It's great to have equivalent 357 magnum power in my trusty 1911. The dies are fine and produce factory like appearance. The problem i had was lubing each case since it's a steel die. So I did the no-lube trick done by other guys. Using my 45 ACP sizing die, I size the fired 400 corbon case body. Then, I use the 400 corbon sizing die to size the neck of the case. Just wipe the neck sizing portion of the die with a little oil and you can resize the neck of about 200 rounds w/o lubing the case. Saves a lot of time. I would highly recommend the Lee dies for reloading 400 corbon. Lowest price, free shell holder and pro results.

I use this die set to ...

I use this die set to reform and load 45ACP cases to 400 Corbon.No problems so far. Have run about 2000 cases.The best thing is the Powder -Thru-Expander Die. Used in conjunction with the Lee Auto Disk Dispenser, this die gives the pistol reloader consistent charges and immeasurable convenience as opposed to manual charging in other dies at any price!Lee is truly the INNOVATOR.Great work lee!

I wanted to try the ...

I wanted to try the lubeless method for my 400 corbon Baer pistol. However, I was skeptical I might damage the steel sizer with an unlubed case. I asked around. Nobody could answer so I called the Lee factory. They said it was no problem as the die is very strong and cannot be damaged by an unlubed case. I now have the Lee 400 corbon dies plus a Lee 45 acp carbide sizing die w/c I use on a 4 hole Lee turret. The effort of sizing is actually less if you use the 45 sizer first! The cases formed are excellent and very accurate. Lee dies are great!

I bought a 400 corbon kit ...

I bought a 400 corbon kit from Ed Brown so I could shoot another caliber. However, I found the 400 corbon case a bit pricey so I decided to reform brass thru a Lee sizer die. I bought some new Winchester 45ACP cases, lube it and run it thru the Lee sizer die in 400 corbon. THe formed brass is good enough. I tried to size used 45 ACP brass, but it was more difficult. The rounds formed on this die set is excellent- like factory rounds. With free shellholder, you're ready to load and reform at the lowest cost. Thanks Lee for such a good product.

I wanted to save money by ...

I wanted to save money by reforming brass for my 400 corbon 1911. This Lee die set works fine for forming 400 corbon brass from new 45ACP cases. However, the necks of some formed brass came out with bulges which interfered with chambering. I was about to give up when a call to my gunsmith solved it. He advise me to size the neck of the finished rounds with a 40 carbide sizer die. Just remove the decapping pin of the 40 sizing die and size the neck. Problem was solved.Now the cases formed are indistinguishable from factory rounds from Corbon and I get to save too! Lee dies are the best!

Nice dies and easy to ...

Nice dies and easy to set-up. Used mine for 5000 rounds. No problems.Only downside is you have to lube your cases and no factory crimp dies.Best value for the money. Free shell holder got me into this.

I bought this 3 months ...

I bought this 3 months ago together with a 400 corbon barrel from Les Baer. I love to shoot this caliber a lot. However, I was stumped by lubing the case so I tried the lube free two step sizing process. I used my 45 acp sizing die to first size the 400 corbon body then later thru the 400 steel sizer WITHOUT lube. I used a RCBS turret. It works fine and I'm shooting more 400 corbon since then!
