Product Information

This Federal Lake City Ammunition has been loaded and passed true NATO specifications. This is the same ammunition that is currently being used by the US Military and met their strict quality assurance standards and specifications. Packaged in a new Sealed Mil-Spec reusable ammo can with tamper evident seal. Ammunition is conveniently loaded onto Mil-Spec 10-round stripper clips. Included is a Mil-Spec steel stripper clip guide for quick, easy loading of any USGI Spec M16/AR-15 magazines. This ammunition is loaded with green painted steel penetrator tip, lead core bullets and is non-corrosive in boxer-primed, reloadable brass cases.

Please Note: While the 5.56x45mm NATO will fit in a .223 Remington chamber, the 5.56 is a military round that runs at higher pressures than its .223 counterpart and is not recommended to be fired in a .223 Remington chambers.

I love the m855 - I have a 9" twist Wilson and it just runs it perfectly - 100 meters 2 to 3 inch groups through an EOtech - A friend of mine with the same gun and a ACOG is getting 1" groups - just ordered the new EOtech EXPS3-0 for my Wilson - will be ordering the new magnifier when available - I think I can get 1" groups easy with the magnifier

Lake City 5.56 Loose Ammunition (I haven't tried the stripper clip ammunition, but I would think the results would be similar).Sub-MOA using a stock Sig Sauer 516.Amazing!!

I shot this out of my DPMS AP4 with ACOG ta01nsn, zeroed at 100 meters and bullet is dead on with BDC from 100 to 600 meters. Great performance and I will buy several more cases!

Good accurate ammo, good price. Unfortunately had 2 fail to fire the first time out of 10. They both went off the second time. Hope this doesn't continue through the rest of the can. The AR 15 is clean and fairly new...

I have fired between 4000-7000 rounds of this ammo. This is the same ammo we use at my military base. I have not came across a round that will not go down range when I squeeze the trigger. Most miss feeds are caused by the rifle and not the round. The ammo after firing will have a considerable amount of residue but nothing a couple of good cleanings won't take care of.

Purchased this tin based on cost per quantity. NATO ammo ensured consistent performance. Ammo fed and fired accurately from my RRA 5.56 with 1 in 9 twist barrel. Stripper clips loaded Pmags quickly and was appreciated. My rifle is new to me and this cost per cartridge enabled me to spend more time getting to know the gun. Will make this a regular purchase...good stuff.

Awesome ammunition. If you haven't served in the military, know that this is the same stuff we use every day. Sure the can is half the size and you don't get the cloth bandoleers, but it's the same round. I worked at a range qualifying personnel on the m16/m4 and the only time I've seen a failure or stoppage of any kind was at fault of the weapon or shooter. Out of every couple thousand you'll get a dead primer or two. But that's it.

Fantastic ammo. though i made the mistake of shooting at a non disposable target. I really chewed it up. Don't shoot at it if you don't want it to have holes. I am curious as to why it is 420 rounds to a can, as 540 fit with ease.

Good quality, and good service. The ammo arrived quickly, and I put it to immediate use on my club's firing range. This is military ammo. It is robust, accurate, and will over-penetrate in urban environments. I hope Midway keeps getting these deals! This ammo is just the trick for most tactical situations, and it is economical enough for extensive training.
