4 stars but still worth it

This is a pretty nice holster for a S&W M&P pistol. I love that you can adjust the height and the cant of the firearm, however, there are some flaws. In order of worst to least:

The form of the Kydex is good. There is an extended section for safeties, which I have on my M&P. The only problem is that the front sight ALWAYS hits the Kydex. They should have extended the groove for the sight all the way to the rear to prevent this. The metal sights won't break off but watch out to make sure your fiber or little dot don't get knocked out of place.

I wish the clips had 3 or 4 holes instead of just 2. I could easily drill a hole if I really need to but I haven't had the desire yet. I would like it to ride a little lower but this is sufficient.

The rigidity clips are fine to me. Other review have dogged on them but I like them. They are stiff and hard to get off the belt but I found that if I get both of them started before pulling one of the clips off my belt then it is easier. They could also be a bit skinnier. They are kind of wide.

The leather is not as high of a quality as other holsters I have had of similar design (MTAC Minotar)and it kind of smells a little when you take it out of the package but for half the price it works.

All in all I would buy this again. The only reason for 4 stars is because of the sight hitting the Kydex. It's not as nice as some other similar holsters but the price blows them out of the water.

This holster is everything I could have hoped for. The delivery was very fast took two days to get to me. My M&P .40C fits like a glove. The clips are good and it's strong. It feels very well put together. Great product. Way to go Desantis!

I bought one for my M&P 9 ...

I bought one for my M&P 9 compact and one for my XDM compact. Clips are too strong, replaced with Comp-Tac. At the 3 o'clock stiching and the top edge are not comfortable, tried moleskin, that helped some.

Don't let the 4 star ...

Don't let the 4 star rating fool you. This is a great holster! Quick, easy draw, great positive retention. I wear this with an M&P40c and the muzzle just barely clears the holster, perfect fit. Holds tight to the body and super comfortable. The only reason I knocked off one star is because of the difficulty I am having with installing and removing it. The clips are so tight, it's a real bear to get them started over your belt and pull the pants over the muzzle. Once installed, it's not moving until you remove it. As for ease of on/off, it's about the same as if you have to feed your belt through and OWB holster. The contour and the snugness of your body help with retention as your body push against the inner leather part of the holster. Off the body, naturally, it isn't going to lock the gun in place. However, off the body, it has enough retention that I can have the gun with a loaded mag inserted and turns it upside down; it will not fall out unless you shake it good. While wearing, I'm 100% positive you can do cartwheels and not have the gun fall out. But really, is it necessary to do cartwheels to test this out?? I only wish they had this available for my Glock 30.

This holster works fine for all of my M&P's. I use it for my M&P 9c, and my full size M&P 9mm, and M&P 45. I have a M&P 45c on the way, and am sure its going to fit that gun too.

Great holster. Shaped properly for the M&P. Weapon snaps into place with good retention but easy to draw too. The holster is very comfortable and can be worn all day with no issues. I don't have any issues with the clips, but then again I wear a black belt all the time. Doesn't take too long to break-in either. Overall very highly recommended. A++

This holster is very comfortable to wear and conceals my M&P 9mm well. I was not happy with the extra wide belt clips for concealment purposes. That seems counter-intuitive. After carefully thinning these down, the holster works well. If these break, I will replace the clips with the Comp-Tac standard clips. Retention is better than the Comp-Tac MTAC/CTAC due to a better molding of the trigger and trigger guard.
