The LaserLyte Laser Training System will save you money on ammunition and gas spent driving to and from your local range. This unique system is designed to fit all handguns from 9mm to 45 caliber that have at least a 2" barrel. The laser system can be used practically anywhere. It simply shoots the laser downrange and shows you immediately where it hits. The laser is sound activated and will flash momentarily when you dry-fire your firearm. Included in the Laser Training System are 3 batteries (377 Silver Oxide), the laser, an adjustable adapter for different calibers and instructions for use.

The LaserLyte Pro is a ...

The LaserLyte Pro is a good addition to dry firing training with a few caveats:1) If you have problems dealing with small items, the battery installation and the fine threads of the two halves may be a problem.2) You have to unscrew the two halves to turn if off, there is no power switch.3) Red laser, good for indoor practice or in a shady area outside. Direct sunlight will wash out the laser.The short flash is a good indicator of where you would hit as opposed to where you thought you were shooting. Its small size allows it to be used in a holster, allowing draw and fire drills.There is a tendency to look at the target as opposed to focusing on the sights to see where your impact. I put reflective dots on my targets which really light up when the laser hits it. Thus, I concentrate on the front sight and if I see laser reflecting from that dot, I know I've hit the target. I've had it about two months, 20 minute dry fire drills about 2-3 times a week, I'm still on the original batteries. The unit also helped me diagnose that the sights of one of my pistols was off. It has helped my shooting.

This is supposed to be used in guns with a 2" or longer barrel. The muzzle to forcing cone length is 2.152"on my revolver. With the LT-PRO adjusted for proper fit in my gun, it protruded beyond the forcing cone by 0.064" which locks the cylinder. Probably works OK in a 2" semi. but not in a revolver.

I was thoroughly disappointed with this product. No matter how much I tightened the adjustment screw, I was unable to make the unit fit either .44 or .45 caliber barrels. The product also has a cheap, flimsy feel; more like a child's toy than a serious piece of training equipment. This was the first product from Midway that I felt compelled to return.

I've owned one of these for over a year now, with no problems. I also would recommend the LED laser activated target (also by Laserlyte) to go with it. It is a great way to dry fire practice and sharpen those skills!

This is a poorly designed piece of junk! Needs a better way to be shut off. Batteries will last a long time if this unit is shut off when not in use. Having to disassemble and install the small piece of plastic, (I lost mine the 2nd day), or remove the batteries is a poor way to go.It is a great idea, but needs MORE refinement.

This is a very cool little gadget. When used with a snap cap, it fires a laser at your target for about a quarter of a second to show you where the shot would have hit. This feedback shows you the flaws in your technique. For example, with my P226 at 15 yards, I shoot very accurately. With my PPK at 15 yards, my shots hit about an inch and a half to the right. This tool showed me that I am pulling those shots right--perhaps due to the different trigger pull or different grip on the smaller gun. I highly recommend this product for technique training.Here are the not so good parts: The LT-PRO should come with some sort of little plastic carrying case, but it does not. It comes with extra batteries, an allen wrench, and a manual, but provides nothing in which to store these things. To turn the unit off, you literally have to unscrew the end and insert a little plastic disc. It does not include extra discs, and this part will surely be lost. Hopefully something like a little scrap of paper will work. Since you have to take it apart twice every time you use it (to remove the disc and then to replace it again), I can see the threads getting buggered up if the user is not careful. For these reasons, I give it 4 stars instead of 5.

I've used this in a Glock 33, Browning Hi-Power, MP5 clone and even a Marlin 1895GBL, and it has functioned in all of them. I also tried it in a Taurus 650 snubnose, but the barrel was too short and the cylinder would not spin with the device in place. That was not unexpected, and I don't hold against the LT-Pro, but I do have some issues with the design of the unit:First, it needs to be disassembled before and after every use. Another reviewer mentioned stripping the threads, and while I have not done so, I can certainly see the potential for it to happen. Some way to turn off the unit without taking it apart would have been greatly appreciated.Second, the adjustment to fit bores is not very positive. I haven't had any issues with it coming lose inside the gun, but I've found it does need to be adjusted before every use even if it's going back into the same gun it came out of. Granted this is a minor inconvenience that thread locker would probably solve if you were only using the laser with one firearm.Third, the device does not work for me when drawing from a holster. The laser never lights up for the first shot from the holster, but will then function normally if I recock the pistol and shoot again. I suspect it has something with being suspended emitter down while holstered.

As noted in other reviews it is hard on batteries. Another problem is that when batteries get low, but the laser still triggers, the beam may not be intense enough to trigger a LaserLyte target, should you choose to use one. My first set of batteries, left in the device, would light the laser next morning, but the target would not record hits.

Over all it's good. It's not 100% and can "misfire" on occasion. You do have to keep tending to it to keep it snuggly in the barrel. Given the limitation of what you need to make this usable in Semi-Autos and Revolvers and over a large range of calibers, I think this is a good design. Wish it did have some kind of shut off switch or "battery blocking insert" to keep from fiddling with the batteries all the time.

The first unit I bought failed after the first day. Laserlyte replaced the unit and it also failed after a few days. At this point I give up and consider this a waste of $80.00.

I have had it for three or four months. I use it along with their laser target that retains the hits, then shows them when you hit a display spot with the laser. You then reset the target by hitting another spot on the target. The battery life of the target is great, the laser only fair. I use it in a Rossi Ranch Hand .45LC, Judge, XD-45, Glock 19, and a few others. Works good in all. I overtightened the arbor and damaged it, called LaserLyte and they sent out a new one for free in about three days. I recommend it to anyone who wants to practice in the comfort of your home. It does okay without the target but it is a worth the extra money to get one.
