The RCBS Primer Pocket Brush is a great tool reloaders can use to remove the residue from primer pockets making them cleaner. Brushes are made from stainless steel bristles and are made to fit the RCBS Accessory Handle (product # 477-820) sold separately.

As others have noted, the bristles are not even with one another, but that didn't seem to hinder anything when chucked in a cordless drill. It cleaned out the pocket pretty well. Only problem is that one of the bristles got bent and became loose and came out of the unit. This relieved some of the tension that keeps all the bristles in place and in short order, more got loose and eventually all the bristles fell out. If the bristles would stay in place this would be a good product.

I have cleaned probably 2,000 rounds with this brush and it still works extremely well. Unlike previous posts all the bristles on my pocket cleaner were cut even and flat. The only issue (and a small one at that) that I have is that it has a difficult time cleaning the walls of the pocket. Other than that one SMALL issue, my pocket cleaner has worked perfectly.

does what it says it will do, but wears out after about 1,500 rounds. wouldnt waste your time on the handle, works alot better when you chuck it into a drill

The brush tips aren't cut ...

The brush tips aren't cut even and don't do a good job cleaning primer pockets. They are defective. I called RCBS and they blamed it on the company they contract to make the brushes for them. I sent them back to RCBS with a letter explaining the problem and they sent me new brushes that are just as bad.

Received new Lg. and Sm. brushes today. Old brushes did fray after more than 2000 pocket cleanings. New brushes are about 40% shorter, which should eliminate the fraying concerns. 400 pockets clean so far-perfect. Stay with RCBS, quality and customer service are 2nd to none.

I've tried about every little gadget to clean .223 primer pockets, and this works the best. I chock it up in my drill press, and with slight pressure it makes the primer pockets look like new. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is, like the other reviewer, I found the bristles to be uneven. This is easily fixed, however, by chocking it up in the drill press, spinning it and running a bastard file across it.
