A well-engineered neck sizing die

What I like: inexpensive, collet design minimizes bullet runout, no lubrication needed, stout decapping rod, expanding ball can be reduced as per instructions, and the threading is all well-machined.

What I didn't care for: Aluminum alloy parts, needless seating die. If you reload 303 British you really need to have a full length sizing die as neck sizing can't be done forever nor on all of your brass (multiple rifles or new[to you] brass). With that FL die you would have a seating die already. Ideally I would have liked for the sizing die to be available for sale separetly.

What I didn't like: Locking ring uses the o-ring squeeze thingy. In my experience with more used Lee dies, the o-rings just don't provide enough lock and the dies move too much. I bought a Hornady Sure-Loc lock ring to replace this part. I think Lee would greatly benefit from including their own version of a cross-screw locking ring with wrench flats.

While I may have only given this a 4/5, this is the best neck sizing die you will get for the 303 British. That is unless you want to shell out the money for a custom bushing die from another company. I expect this tool to last a lot of use.

I have a number of Lee dies, and these are no different. Lee has the best value for your money hands down. I have several of these for loading my Enfields, and I also use this die for neck sizing my 7.62x54R cases. I had custom mandrels made so I can load various size cast projectiles for some of the larger bores. Cost of the mandrels and the dies was still less than custom die from another mfr. for just one bullet diameter. A great product.

This is a must-have for anyone who reloads the .303 British for SMLE rifles. Given the excessive headspace for which these rifles are known, full-length sizing will result in case separations fairly quickly. By using the Lee Collet die - and using powder charges reduced from maximum, you can get great case life. Maximum loads, however, will require full-length or partial-length sizing in a standard die - or they won't chamber (which defeats the purpose). The only downside - if you have several SMLE rifles, you will need to segregate your brass by rifle, since chamber dimensions differ enough that neck-size-only brass will not be interchangeable.

I have used most major die manufacturers, and when it comes to loading the .303 british, Lee's collet neck sizing die was the most accurate. I can load sub-moa ammo, w/o the need for lube. As it sizes the neck only,and preserves the perfect fit of fireforming for your particular rifle, make sure you keep your brass seperate between rifles(if you reload for more than one lee-enfield). Combine this die w/ a factory crimp, and your ammo should turn out better than most factory loaded ammo. Also, I find a little lube on the die's collet assy helps to make it work smoother, longer.These are the ONLY dies I will use to reload .303 brass, until someone comes out w/ something that works better.

I will tell you. I got these dies as my SMLE is case sensitive. Neck sizing only makes sense. I got the dies, deprimed, the first case popped the primer ejector. I only had 40 cases to load so I made a tool to eject the primers. They were not Berdan primed cases. I did the case prep, primed, weighed powder, and set the first bullet. The bullet fell out of the case! I kept having this problem until I put the cartridge on top of the shell holder. I contacted Lee and they were willing to exchange dies. I played around with the die and the die body was just a tad too long. I contacted Midway. Three days later I had a replacement! I mean that fast! I just tried the new dies to see if it was me.They fit perfectly and did their job without compromise. Midway, might be a little more than other competitors. I have not found that to be so however. Their customer service is ABSOLUTELY no-nonsense. No around the bush, no messing around. They just do a great job! I am a satisfied customer.
