The Redding Slide bar Automatic Primer Feeding System is a great time saver during the reloading process. The time saving advantages of a progressive press can never be fully realized if brass is still primed by hand. With the Redding Slide Bar Automatic Primer Feeding System, brass is primed quickly and easily while it is on the press. This automatic priming system from Redding fits the Big Boss Single Stage Press and Redding T-7 Turret reloading press, and includes both large and small primer tubes and a safety shield.

It may not be the best priming tool on the market but it is pretty great considering priming one by one, is not fun and time consuming. After a couple of times using I have become very productive and love the Priming arm.

This primer feeder is ...

This primer feeder is lacking in many ways... the primer feed tubes should be made of brass instead of aluminum. The changing of primer sixes is a lengthy and complicated process that needs special knowledge of Allen screw locations. Also many small parts and a small spring are easy to drop and lose. It's location is right out front which hampers vision and the operation of the press.

This product is semi-reliable. The cup on my unit tends to come loose and this causes problems with the feeding of primers. I followed directions and use a paper clip to tighten and loosen the cup (when changing from small to large cup). Also I'm loading 380 autos and the primers often don't seat snugly requiring me to use a hand primer. It's worth investing in a 2nd arm and have one for small and one for large primers. This way you don't need to fool with a paper clip except when the cup comes loose.

Once properly adjusted this works great. I have it on a T7 and in conjunction with a lee auto disk pro this makes it possible to load 125-150 rounds per hour.

Works as advertised, but be careful. Redding claims that it holds 'approximately' 100 primers. Mine only holds 97. How hard can it be for Redding to make it hold 100? That is why I gave it only 3 stars. Come-on Redding! Other than that, it works great. I found that I had to buy a second priming bar and have one-each for both the large and small primers. Having to adjust it is a pain.

It speeds up your priming significantly and it is easy to use. My only gripe (where it lost 1 star) is that the tube does not hold a full 100 primers above the holding pin - what you pull out after you insert the priming tube in place. It falls about 6 primers short and to get the full 100 you have to push in the remainder on top.

I use this tool on my Redding Big Boss II. This tools allows me to prime cases quickly and without risk of primer contamination. I found that following the direction on setting up this tool to be complicated. I found that the primer pickup just needs to be set even or just slightly below the top edge of the plunger that keep the primers in the tool. If your primer start dropping in the pickup upside down, chances are your primer pickup is too high. Great tool, it will save you time.

Didn't read the directions. Just went ahead & put it together and started. I read complaints of adjustment problems. There are none. It can only go one way. Tighten it and enjoy. It isn't super smooth but its much faster than all of the super smoothies and that's why I bought it.........speed. Buy it!

Works great. This system on the T-7 makes reloading a great deal faster than the one-at-a-time method. This should come with the T-7. It DOES take some adjusting of the tiny allen screws to get it working right, but once adjusted it will STAY working perfectly until you need to change primer sizes. Then you have to adjust it all over again, and if you go a long time between needing to switch primer sizes (like I do) you may forget how to adjust it! But oh well a little trial and error gets it right! And like I said, once adjusted, it's consistent. I'm thinking of buying another set so I can swap out large and small primers without adjusting the small screws. But I just haven't been able to justify the cost yet. The tube does block the front view but I stand to the left side anyway and haven't noticed a problem with the view of the brass.The hardware, like all Redding products I've had, seems to be built to last a lifetime. I also like some Lee products, but there is a world of difference in terms of years of use. Redding products are built to last. Period.I would certainly recommend this if you intend to load lots of rounds quickly. If you're just loading 20 hunting rounds at a time, it would not be worth it. But with this and the Lee AutoDisk, I'm able to use my T-7 as a good compromise between a progressive press and a single stage press and if I'm in the zone I can crank out almost 200 rnds of pistol ammo per hour.

Upside: It works. Downside: It is not user friendly. I have two press mounted systems. This one and a Lee. I always return to the hand held primer tool. I am always looking for a better priming system and I probably will purchase the next mousetrap that some company engineers if it looks promising. This one is not it.

This optional automatic ...

This optional automatic feeder is not user friendly, with too many small parts that are able to be lost, and I found it very slow operating it. Plus it sits right in front of your view of the case. I also found if you catch the primer on the shell plate you can accidently flip it over in the cup so it may seat the wrong side up or sideways.
