After installing the C&S ...

After installing the C&S spring kit, about 8 months ago, I noticed that I was getting light primer strikes, but fired about 200 rounds through the gun without problem - the springs didn't do much of anything for the trigger pull.Recently I went to the range with my BHP and when I loaded the gun and pulled the trigger for the first time I got a very un-nerving "click". I checked the pistol to make sure it was loaded (all the while keeping the muzzle pointed downrange!) and then recocked the hammer and it fired normally when I pulled the trigger. Ejection and accuracy were fine. Over the course of the next 19 rounds, perhaps half failed to fire on the first hammer drop, but would fire on the second. The other half fired on the first hammer drop. When I recovered the empties, I saw that the primer strikes were practically non-existent on some, and very weak on others. The fact that this problem happened today, instead of 8 months ago (right after the lighter springs were installed) may be due to ammo (reloads with CCI 500 primers this time, WW primers 8 months ago), or that there was some goo or grease that had accumulated in the firing pin hole during the 8 months in the safe. In any event, I was apparently not getting enough of a primer strike today.I have since replaced the C&S springs with the original Browning springs and I do indeed see much better primer indentation with the original springs.
