The Hornady Impact Bullet Puller is a handy tool for any reloading bench. The Impact Puller uses the power of inertia to quickly pull bullets from cartridges without damaging the bullet or brass. A few solid taps on a piece of wood will release the bullet. The puller is designed with a hollow head to capture the bullet and powder for reuse or disposal.

I have used this item on .22 Hornet and .45 ACP and it works great. About the only thing that kept it from getting 5 stars is the fact that the directions were a little too simple. Don't be afraid to SMACK it because it's going to take a couple of whacks to get the job done. I also wonder about how well the collet that holds the cartridge will hold up but, so far it has performed as advertised.

I received my Hornady ...

I received my Hornady bullet puller today. The O-ring that holds the 3 pieces together was broken so the puller was useless . It also comes with only one collet which did not work well with my 7.62 -54 . A small rubber band is holding things together for now. This is the only problem I have ever had with a Hornady product.

Cheap collet assembly

I have not used this to pull any bullets yet, so I'm not going to comment on its bullet pulling abilities yet. I will however give you my first reaction out of the box. It feels cheap. I removed the collet chuck and the collet fell out in three separate pieces because the o-ring that is supposed to hold everything together was torn at the mating point of each piece of the collet. I may try to chamfer the o-ring land to make sure the replacement o-ring I have to now go find at a hardware store won't get cut by any manufacturing burrs. I'll update my rating after I get to use it some.

This thing works

I pull misfires and improperly loaded ammo. It's clear plastic and looks delicate, so initially you are afraid to hit too hard. Go ahead and smack it very sharply and usually in one or two tries the bullet comes free, occasionally a third whack is required. Easy to use. I've unloaded about 25 rounds with it and it seems durable.

For years I only used the collet-type bullet pullers with my press. The designs of some new bullets I have been using recently don't work too well with the old bullet puller so I decided to buy this one because of the company name and the positive reviews. This simple little device made quick work of the task at hand. Just a few raps of the puller on a wood block on my bench did the trick. It was way too easy! The simple device that holds the case in place worked flawlessly for the calibers I worked with today... .30 Carbine, .38/.357 and .45 ACP. Whenever I need to pull just a few bullets to pull in the future, I'll reach for my Hornady Impact Bullet Puller first.

I just got this today and it works awesome. 3-5 good solid hit on the concrete, and out comes the bullet. So simple and easy to use. I have never used a bullet puller before, so cant say anything else other than awesome product Hornady. Thank you!

Used this to pull aprx 300 bullets ranging from 40 cal to 45 cal, even 223. Worked perfectly until the collet inside the head became weak. I'm still giving 5 stars because of Hornady's amazing customer service. Just called and replaced it right away no hassles! Great product from a great company.
