This ammo gives me consistent 3/4 inch groups at 100 yards from my Mod 111 Savage 270. The 130gr SST bullet gets the job done! Great expansion and total penetration, in one side and out the other, every time. The first deer I shot with this ammo was a six point whitetail at 165 yards, dropped where he was standing and was dead before he hit the ground. Have never had one go more than 20 yards after being hit. I also use Hornady ammunition in my .308 Mauser and .7mm Rem Mag and get the same results. I have tried many different brands of ammo in all three guns and none can match, or even come close to the Hornady SST for accuracy and knock down power.

Two yrs ago my son drew a coveted bighorn sheep tag here in Oregon. Having just moved my reloading room was not yet setup. I quickly ordered a few different premium factory loads to try. The SSTs shot extremely well in his win. Model 70. In fact under half an inch at 100 yrds. I ordered 10 boxes so we would have plenty to practice at distances out to 600 yrds. We quickly realized that the drop was much greater at 300&400 yrds. Than should have been according to the claimed velocity. Chronographed velocity was only 2796 average from a 22 in. Barrel. Despite the rather disappointing velocity we were short on time and already sighted in so we stuck with it. One shot @ 402 yrds and my son had his sheep. Very accurate, just not nearly as fast as the claim on the box .

My Savage 116 FCSS loves these rounds. Bought a box to try out for an upcoming Antelope hunt this fall. I shot 4 three shot groups and they ranged from 7/16" to 1" at 100 yards. Even had a couple in the same hole. That's awesome for a factory round through a non-custom gun. Highly recommend ! Can't wait to drop an Antelope with them.

This ammo will shoot moa out of my Browning Longtrac. Killed two bucks Last yr. One was a 6 point at 35yds and the other was an 8 point at 170yds. 35yd heart shot was a pass thru, the 170yd shot was a high shoulder broadside shot and bullet did not exit stuck under the hide on the other side. 6 pointer ran 20yds. 8 pointer never took a step. This yr. one 8 point at 180 yds. high shoulder broadside shot no exit with bullet under the hide on the other side. Same results. Never took a step. I will be shooting this ammo for a long time.

Kept a real close shot group, approx. .75 at 100 yards. One problem casing swells after firing and is a little hard to get out .

This is outstanding ammunition. I recently completed some military style competition trials with an inexpensive .270 Remington rifle and fired expert at 1000 yards . Extremely consistent.

Used it in two rifles, a Remington 700 XCR and a Browning A-bolt. In the Remington it performed satisfactory, in the Browning it did not. Shot all over the place, although still on paper. In both rifles the bolt was stuck after every shot. On top of that my shoulder is still sore from the heavy recoil.

used this bullet in my new savage 116 270 took five shots to sight the rifle in 1st to shots at 100yards cut the same hole have used hornady ammo for years and will continue to use this ammo in my opinion it is the best ammo available

This is the first year I used this ammo for deer season in Missouri. Many double taps while sighting this new ammo in. Made a 25 yard neck shot at an eight pointer, the round ricocheted off the neck bone and stopped in between the shoulder blades. Majority of the bullet stayed together. The deer stopped right in his tracks, instant kill. All in all, seems to be am accurate round. I will know more next year if I will get a chance to shoot another deer or not.
