I have had this press for over two years now. I've successfully loaded thousands of rounds with it, and have had no problems with it except for a minor primer feed issue, (just keep a few primers in the slot and you will not have an issue). Set up was straight forward. The ram and linkage are solid and smooth in operation. I've loaded 7.62x54R, 7.62X39, 303 British, 223 REM, 30-06, 308, 8x57 and many many more. Any indexing issue can be adjusted very quickly and easily by following the directions or on Lee's website. The Auto Index feature is great for loading quantities of rifle ammo. I can see that it would work as well for pistol ammo .. but I have a Lee Pro 1000 for that. If you are looking to update your single stage or if you are new to reloading this is the press for you. Easy to use, dependable and the price is right. It has replaced my Rock Chucker and Layman Turret Press. I Love IT! Thank you Lee.

Bought the 4-hole turret press after using the Lee Classic Single Stage Press for awhile. Thought it would speed up things, even though I take my time with reloading, but I was a bit disappointed. Liked the breech lock loading of dies on the single stage; the 4 hole doesn't need them (dies screw directly into the auto-rotating plate), but a similar arrangement would be nice. Single stage had a convenient way to dispense with used primers, not so on the turret press. The turret ring assembly works reasonably well. However, the threads for inserting the dies are extremely sharp and uneven. (I used to work at a metal finishing plant in CT, we did stuff for Ruger in Southport, and this sort of stuff would never pass the grade.) The turret ring on the 4-hole rotates precisely, but counterclockwise, and that throws me for the proverbial loop. Mechanical advantage on the turret press is much better than on the classic single stage. Bottom line, I'm not getting rid of my single stage press yet. I decap, size the cases, measure EVERY load on a Lyman DPS 3 (best purchase I've made), then go on to the rest, in stages/batches. I -- and perhaps you -- might do better with the Keep it Simple, Stupid, rule. Would I recommend someone buying the turret press? Yes. But I'm not all that thrilled about it.

I have had my Classic Turret press for over two years, and have loaded easily a couple of thousand rounds in .38 special, .357 magnum, and 7x57 Mauser. The press itself is solid as a rock and a good value for the money. I was recently thinking about upgrading to a progressive, but for now (based on what I have read here and at other sites) I am just going to add a separate Auto Disk Pro to each of my turrets to speed up caliber changes.

I have experienced some minor annoyances with the Safety Prime, and priming in general, and the Auto Disk is pretty limited as far as selecting a powder charge, but those issues are not directly related to the press itself. Overall I am glad that I bought this instead of a progressive press.

I bought a Lee Pro 1000 and spent 3 days trying to get it running. I sent it back and got the 4 hole classic press. It is well built and indexes great. Setup is easy. I added the powder measure and safety prime. The powder charge is very consistant and the finished case measuremnets right on. It sure beats doing it one at a time like I was doing.

I purchased the Lee Classic 4 Hole Turret Press about 9 months ago, it is my first reloading press. I studied the product offerings from at least four manufacters before purchasing, and read a lot of reviews. Some YouTube Videos were also helpful. I decided on this press as it offered a moderately productive reloading system at a low price point. MidwayUSA had the best prices on the larger parts, as usual. Now that I have learned to use the system I would rate this press five stars. It is productive, reliable, easy to use, and low cost. Particularly with the priming system, there is technique to learn and adjustments to finetune. The primer holder arm assembly for small primers was not manufactured perfectly such that it did not hold the primer securely. After seeing how much better the arm for large primers performed, I ordered a new small arm from Titan Reloading. Priming has since been solidly reliable. Had I returned the small primer arm to Lee, they would no doubt have replaced it, but I was in a hurry (a $6.50 part). I have now loaded over 1500 rounds, both rifle and handgun, without any press failures. If I started over today, I would make the same choice.

I've had this press for over a year now and loaded several thousand rounds on it. Lots of 9MM,45 ACP, some .223 and 30-30. Great press and NO problems. I'm still on the original square plastic rachet. The Pro Auto disc measure is very accurate and the Safety Prime works great. This press is the best buy on the market. My old Rockchucker hardly sees any use now.

I waited a while to review and give the press time to fail... no go. I really love this press and recommend it to everyone who asks what to buy, it increases production and maintains simplicity while embracing affordability. I really don't see what's not to like, its built like a TANK and runs smooth as butter with the only part ever needing replacement being a cheap plastic ratchet that wont stop the press from running if it fails. there is a bit of vertical play in the turret, but that can be adjusted for. I really think this is the press everyone should start on, if i did it would have saved me the money to upgrade. Buy it, you'll be glad you did!

33 years handloading and have 7 presses. This is on my handgun bench. I use it for 38 special, 44 special, 9mm. 38 super. And 45 colt. 3 to 4 boxes and hour with no problem. I have a plate for each one pre set up with a auto disk on each one. Always check the adjustments after changing to a new caliber. So far, it runs over 99 percent acceptance rate. Dont really like the nylon part for the auto index but not a real problem. two of my reloading partners have also got one after using mine. Never tried it on rifles but like it enough to get me another plate for 32 sw long, bought extras on the indexer and use dies that I already had. Will not match the 500 per hour that my lock-n-load will do but its in no danger of being fired. Easy to use and have not had anyone not like it so far.

This press is ROCK SOLID!!! I bought it along with a lee reloader C press for reloading both rifle and pistol ammunition, this thing is amazing to work with. I have a Dillon press that I work with at the factory my family owns, and I can safely say that this thing feels just as solid as the Dillon, at a much lower price.

I have both this classic cast turret and the standard aluminum 4 hole turret. Get the cast iron classic turret the 4 hole turret has 2 major down falls the first is spent primers, it has no good place for them to go and it tends to drop them every where. The second is that wile it loaded rifle cartridges it will not auto index on 223 or longer cartridges. The classic addresses both issues, first with a drop tube so that the mess and grit of de-priming goes thru the ram and out the tube in the bottom into a bucket. The second it will auto index on most rifle cartridges up to 30-06 in length because of the longer ram and wider opening. If you can swing the extra cost get the classic or the kit with the classic in it. Or wish you had spent the extra money when your bench is covered in old primers and you have to hand index your rifle cartridges.

I've got mine set-up with the Safety Prime and Auto Disk (with riser). So far I've pumped-out a good bit of .40 and .45 auto and 30-30 rifle. Switch-overs are a snap with spare turrets. I'll set-up the 30-06 and big revolver rounds soon.It is possible to half-stroke at the top or bottom to repeat a die-process without advancing the turret, or to advance the turret without engaging a die. Both can come in handy now and then.By the way, the over-engineered lever linkage appears to be brass-plated, but is made of steel. So my magnet says.

I have used a Pro 1000 for many years and ran thousands of rounds through it with little difficulty. For cranking out practice rounds fast it would be hard to beat. I decided I wanted more control and "check ability" so now also have this turret press. What a beefy press! I have it set to load using 4 dies with the safety prime and the pro auto-disk powder measure and it works perfectly. I love the fact that I can now change calibers in minutes, check load weights quickly, and "feel" the primer seat correctly. The minor problems I might encounter (such as the plastic indexing ratchet) will be trivial and easily corrected. It is a quality product for a reasonable price!
