The cutting edge LaserLyte Kryptonyte Green Laser is designed for use with the modern rifle, carbine or any weapon with three-inches of Picatinny or weaver type rail. It is constructed of aircraft grade 6061 aluminum. The concise laser engraved markings clearly display user-friendly features. The Kryptonyte Carbine Laser is fully adjustable with hex drive screws protected by sealed turret caps. The offset design of the laser aperture allows for more flexible mounting options. The recessed activation selector can be changed to off, constant on and momentary on. The momentary on feature is used with the 10-inch long tape switch that can be mounted with provided Velcro strips. The bright green dot makes target acquisition fast and efficient. The green laser can be seen in daylight up to 100 yards. At night the laser can be seen up to a mile away. The features, styling and versatility of this product provide unmatched performance for a laser sight in the market. Powered by one CR-123 battery, the Kryptonyte Carbine Laser offers 1.5 hours of continuous on.

Notwithstanding some of ...

Notwithstanding some of the poor reviews here, I bought this laser and gave it a good testing. I'm impressed.I've not had any problems with battery connections or the pressure pad, though it is true that not all of the pad seems usable. And you do need to crank down the battery compartment plug well to keep it from flickering out. I also confirmed that it does not work well when cold. Still, I'm happy with it.I first mounted this laser on a Saiga 12 shotgun. I was able to get the laser to adjust windage/elevation to co-witness with my irons on the gun no matter where I placed it on my quad rail (top/bottom or sides). I brutalized this thing by shooting lots of full power Rio buckshot (not 3" magnums, but still). 500 rds later, it was still working perfectly and holding zero. Convinced that it will hold up on my intended platform, I moved it over to my H&K USC where it has worked like a champ.But now I miss having this thing on my Saiga 12ga. So I think I'm going to buy another, and just hope that I don't end up with a lemon like others appear to have gotten.

Soon after installing this sight on my gun and getting it roughly lined up with my iron sights I took it out to the range to have a little fun. The dot did great, it never grew too large as I got it down to 100 yards. Downside, and the only side in my opinion, is that this laser system died on me. Now I'm not talking about the batteries or even that I had this thing on a Lapua. After 200 rounds on my M&P15-22 it stopped working. That's right, 200 rounds of 22 LR and it was already shot out. Thanks Laserlyte for a stellar product!

Update on review to: I sent my aforementioned LaserLyte Kryptonyte Carbine Green Laser System back to the vendor w/ a note relating that the light was intermittent. They sent it back to me w/ the battery dead as they had left the light on. They did send two fresh batteries and some Allen wrenches.The form letter with it indicated that they could not duplicate the problem and they sent it back after "extensive testing".I called the vendor and spoke w/ the "executive secretary", or something, and asked why they sent it back to me if they hadn't fixed anything. She also was aghast when I mentioned that it flickered and went out while shooting .22 LR. She said that I should have indicated that problem--how were they to know I had used it on a rifle?Tread carefully!

The momentary switch is not worth using--there is a very small area that will activate the light.The laser works very well when it works. It has developed an on-off (mostly off) of its own. A light tap with a pencil will make it work again briefly. It is fun to play with but as a work item, you'd better carry a tactical pencil to tap the light.An excellent item when it works!

Fun toy, I like this thing, but it only gets 3 stars. For the money its a lot of fun. As a tactical tool its not. I have one with the serial number under 3000 and the on / off / momentary switch was a little flakey at first. The first time I installed it and dry fired the weapon it went out, not inspiring. This has gotten better as it has been used more and in the momentary position used with the momentary pad has never been a problem. The biggest drawback is the cold sensitivity, if the units temperature is below about 55F it starts getting weak and by about 50F it is about useless. You can put your hand on it to keep it warm but after a few minutes in the cold and it gets weak and goes away. Adjustments are coarse, a little nudge on the adjustment Allen wrench goes a long way, I have it set now and is holding zero and it is nice to see a green dot next to the red dot looking through the Aimpoint, this co witness set up is inspiring.

Having trouble with the battery connections - light will not work till I turn the battery compartment screw to make good connection. Light is brand new and clean as a whistle. - Just having trouble with this intermittent problem.

I had big hopes for this laser, I figured for $200 it would be pretty good. I have cheap $19.95 lasers that are better than this one was. The laser was so far off bore that I ran out of windage trying to sight it in. Maybe Laserlyte's other products are OK and I just got a lemon but it is the only one I have used, so it will be awhile before I use another.

I bought this particular device because of its durability and ability to retain its zero after being fired from a FAL carbine. As far as its visibility during daylight well, it's not going to work past 75 meters. Other than that it's very good.

LaserLyte Kryptonyte Carbine Green Laser System, is a great tool when used the right way. I use it along with my ACOG for range estimates and also it is good for shoot and scoot on the move. It's a good value for the price and I would tell those interested it's worth it.
