This set contains the parts needed to attain specific trigger pull weights for a 1911. Perfect for tactical or match use. Each part has been heat treated for long life and durability. Steel in the white. Requires fitting and installation by a qualified gunsmith. Springs have been prepped and matched at the factory.

I dropped this kit in my ...

I dropped this kit in my new Springfield Range Officer, stoned the sear and cleaned up all of the parts with an Arkansas stone and after adjusting the sear spring and installing a 19 pound main spring, the gun went from a 5.1 pound trigger pull to a 3 pound 10 ounce trigger pull and the trigger breaks like a piece of glass.

I used this kit to ...

I used this kit to re-build a Brolin Arms 1911 that had a worn sear. It was for the most part a "drop in" fit, with only one or two exceptions. The hammer strut pin hole in the kit's hammer was very slightly undersized and I had to fit a new hammer strut pin in order to get it to work, as the one on the old hammer was too large. I also had to do some very minor fitting on my thumb safety to get it to work properly. This was not a big deal, only a few file strokes, but it was worth mentioning, as it did effect what I consider the true "drop in" fit expectation of a product labeled as such. Over all, the quality of the parts is fantastic. I ended up with a 3.5-3.7 pound trigger, that should break in at just about the perfect, advertized 3.5 pounds, with a very crisp break. I would, and have, recommended this kit to others without hestitation. Well done C&S! Thank you for your quality products!

Installed in a Kimber ...

Installed in a Kimber Custom 1911. The kit was a complete drop in without having to modify anything. Trigger pull went from 4-3/4 to less than 3*1/2. Verified on trigger pull gauge.

Worth every penny. ...

Worth every penny. Installed in a Springfield 1911-A1 "Loaded". For the most part, the kit was drop in, but the one part that did take some fitting was the hammer strut pin. The factory Springfield pin was slightly oversized for the new C&S hammer. I did not have any troubles with the grip or thumb safeties or hammer follow. Very high quality parts that make for a clean, crisp, and light trigger.

I purchased this trigger ...

I purchased this trigger kit for a loaded Springer 1911. It was a good gun but it needed a bit more. Along with a Nowlin match barrel it's now a tack driver. You may find that you will get some hammer follow if you drop the slide on an empty mag against the frame. Of course that's not good to do, but on a couple tests I noticed the hammer follow. I have never had the problem with a loaded weapon, but I just thought it was worth mentioning. This is a total drop it, but you may need to bend the leaf spring a bit depending on how you like the grip safety to respond. Otherwise, this is a fantastic product and I'm about to buy another one, so I thought I'd write the review. Enjoy!

Definitely drop-in. Installed in a Springfield Armory MilSpec. Very easy, simple, and provides an outstanding trigger feel and pull. Installed with Cylinder & Slide trigger (Midway 654720). Only modification was that I kept the original spur hammer installed.

With trepidation, I ...

With trepidation, I ordered this set, feeling that having a gunsmith friend for a safety net; I can't go wrong.Well, the install was a success without any hitch at all! True to C&S claim, the entire package functioned flawlessly, making my '80 Natl Match Gold Cup shoot smoother; ergo making this humble BE shooter increase in score by at least 10%.Trigger pull is @3.75# but may lower to 3.5.The sear spring is tweakable if the need arises to bring the pull closer to BE regs of no less than 3.5. I am one very happy camper/shooter. Thanks again Mr. Potterfield.

I bought my first 1911 ...

I bought my first 1911 (Springfield, stainless "Loaded" model) and wanted a better trigger for it. I had never even field stripped a 1911 for cleaning before I bought this kit. I ordered the kit and the book "The Gun Digest Book of the 1911" and went to work. I was very nervous as I knew nothing about the 1911. I followed the instructions in the book for stripping down to the frame of the 1911 and everything (except for the fact I had an ambidextrous safety) went exactly like the book described. The hammer strut pin was a little tight getting it into the new hammer, but I eventually got it. I also made a drawing of how the sear and the disconnector were aligned which helped when it came time to reinstall it. Anyway, the point is a complete novice was able to install this kit in about an hour. I ended up with a trigger pull of about 3 ounces over advertised 3.5 pounds. I carefully followed the procedures in the instructions for testing my 1911 after the installation and it passed without a hitch. I had no problem with the safety as has been mentioned by others.

Parts dropped right in my Springfield GI with no gunsmithing. I wouldn't recommend these parts on a carry gun though. When it says three and a half pounds it means three and a half very crisp pounds.

Drop in fit on a new ...

Drop in fit on a new Springfield Loaded with the recess in the grip safety. Trigger pull averages around 3 lbs 10 ozs on my gun. I've yet to shoot it so this should work down to what was advertised after some rounds have been put through the gun.
