I used this on two pigs ...

I used this on two pigs after hearing from several people that a gut hook is the way to go. It worked well for what I wanted to use it for, stayed sharp, was comfortable to use and easy to carry. I had used a knife with a built in gut hook and found it got in the way, that is why I wanted to try this, and keep my regular knife without the gut hook. The only problem is this tool is does not save time as expected. Yes the cut itself took less time and was easier, but you had to find the tool and then clean it after which made up for any time you would have saved by using it. The tool works great as designed, and came extremey sharp. Would not cut through the sternum, but what do you expect? For what it's worth, I will continue to pack it, but if it gets lost or broken, I do not think it's something I can't live without and probably will not replace with a gut hook of any brand. Love the Kershaw products, I just wish more or all of them were made in the USA.
