Great product so far. I ...

Great product so far. I tested it with flake, extruded, and ball powders, each of which performed excellently. The speed settings really help to avoid trickling a little over. The scale seems extremely precise and holds a zero better than my RCBS rangemaster (which is a great scale). I weighed each charge several times and it always registered the same. I had one time (out of over 100) where the charge wavered between 32.1 & 32.2 grains, which is nothing to worry about. It calibrates VERY quickly, which is nice when switching powders. We'll see about longevity, but so far this thing performs just as well if not better than the RCBS Chargemaster when considering the ease of use & speed options. If it turns out to be reliable over the long haul, it's most definitely a better buy at $80 less.

I now have my THIRD unit. Sent the second back to the factory and received a "good" one. It is not good. Even slowing it down and setting the trickle to very slow, operating on manual and slow, the thing does not hit the proper weight in any acceptable manner. In 70 loads the Hornady missed the weight 39 times. I then used the same powder, cartridges, etc. with my RCBS ChargeMaster. In 50 loads only 2 were over and they were only .1 off. Since it has taken so long to go through 3 unusable machines - the last one from the factory-, Midways return time has passed and I am stuck with a red paper weight - or a $200+ target for my Garand. Too bad Midway doesnt have a zero rating.

Worked OK till keypad broke

This unit was working fine for about 6 months, only had a few over charges now and then.
Then one night the 3 and 9 on the key pad would not register on the screen !
now its an expensive paper weight.

Like many here I had lots of trouble with overcharging. Found info that directed me how to change internal parameters on when the unit shifts from high speed to trickle. You can also change the trickle speed to your liking. This has sped up my loading and stopped the overthrowing.
Go to hornadys website and find the dispensor. Once you are on that page you'll see a window that says "downloads"-click there and print out the directions for the parameter changes.

Works ok while it works

I bought this about 3-4 months ago with high hopes of getting a quality product but I was way off on that it has no load memory and its horribly slow even on the fast speed. But after loading only 300-400 rounds the dispense, trickle, and zero buttons don't even work. This was the biggest waste of money

It has a hard time ...

It has a hard time measuring Varget. Having to run it on its slowest speed, and getting overpours about 10% of the time makes this as slow as using a standard powder measure and trickling to the right amount. Works great with TrailBoss and other small powders, but I have a press mounted measure for those.

Much better after getting the new instructions from Hornady. I have to adjust it every time I turn it on. But now I can get 100 rounds loaded with only 2-3 over-throws. I was ready to send back, until I called Hornady, and they sent me instructions for adjusting "secret settings" that don't come in the normal instructions. But that has solved my over-throw issues. I was getting about 50% overthrows, now less than 3%. I love this unit now! Make sure you get the "Special" instructions from Hornady to adjust: Trickle Start Time (my key adjustment,) Trickle Speed, and Motor Dispence Mode.

Have had it for about 3 months now. Originally compared accuracy to my old Ideal balance scale. Within 0.1 grain every time. A very efficient machine for accuracy in powder dispensation and convenience. With the automatic dispensing program I find by the time I seat the bullet in the case and inspect it, the next charge is ready and waiting. I like knowing all my powder charges have been weighed. I have used ball, flake, extruded powders from 6.0 to 51.0 grains and feel confident in the accuracy of the scale. I especially like the "over" alarm when the charge is 0.2 grain to heavy. Good equipment!

Beware this unit does not ...

Beware this unit does not work. Fired it up waited 15 minutes calibrated, threw 10 loads perfectly, then over charge began. It never threw another load correctly. Could not switch mode to slow, would not power off with switch. Un plugged waited 5 minutes same problem. If you like to return stuff buy this.

I'm returning to Hornady. ...

I'm returning to Hornady. This unit has never been able to dispense 57 grains of IMR 4350. Even the slow speed is too fast. It won't adjust to a slow enough speed when it gets close to the target weight thus making an overthrow. Dime store calculators have a better display. The display was poor out of the box with two black marks in the lower right.

Okay, so decided reloaders might want some data on this and not just opinions. I just loaded 50 rounds of 308 using Varget. Out of the 50 cases I charged, this powder dispenser threw:- 3x over charge - 6x .1+ - 44x at the exact charge weight I programmed This took about 45 minutes. I will note that this seems to have been the best this dispenser has done so far; however, I let it "warm up" for appx 15 minutes per Hornady's instructions and the AC didn't kick on at all while charging these cases due to the cold weather we're getting currently. Hope that helps.
