Works well in releasing ...

Works well in releasing the magazines from the weapon. However this was not a drop-in item. I have both old style (1989) and new style (2010) magazines with this pistol and the extended mag release would not release the new magazines without being modified. The original mag release worked fine on both. I had to hone/machine about .030" from the face before it would work. There was that much measured difference between the stock mag release and the new one. I like how it works but cannot recommend it without gunsmith help.

Expensive for what you ...

Expensive for what you get, which is a cut down OEM mag release with an oversized extension screwed on. But..., it has made a world of difference. I can easily release the magazine with my thumb now. They even provide threadlocker to keep the big knob on. (Obviously, you have to screw on the extension after you've installed the mag release in the existing hole.)
