Designed for hunting with today's high performance muzzleloaders, these sabots feature the popular Hornady XTP jacketed hollow point bullet. This bullet is intended for black powder muzzle loading rifle use. It has a .50 caliber sabot which falls away when the bullet leaves the muzzle.

These bullets are the ...

These bullets are the best I have used. They expand perfect every time with only a 70 grain charge of powder. I have shot deer from 25 to 75 yards and the bullets pass through every time. Thanks Hornady!

This is a muzzleloader ...

This is a muzzleloader sabot combination I have used for years. Out of my Encore 209x50 Magnum loaded with pyrodex or pellets, I am easily able to obtain 2moa groups at 100 yards from a rest. Perfectly acceptable results for any purpose. But, I must say, this bullet kills deer exceptionally well for me. As a footnote, I will add that these don't load quite as easily as some other sabots; but they aren't difficult to load either.

I used this exact product ...

I used this exact product to take my large trophy buck in the Mississippi River Delta of NE La. on 12/09/10. With 110g of 777, it was unbelievable. Massive damage, much, much more than previous kills with regular xtp,s. This is due to the magnum xtp. Regular xtp's at Mzl. velocities act like a varmit bullet. If they quit making this combo, I will probably quit.

This is a superb load for ...

This is a superb load for my T/C Omega when shooting 2 50 grain Triple 7 pellets. Last year I shot a nice doe at 70yds, she didn't take a step. I made a good high shoulder shot. When the smoke cleared, all I saw was a big white belly. While skinning her out I saw that it was a pass thru shot, through both shoulder blades (not bone, but the thick cartilage in the shoulder blades) leaving a 1/2'' hole on the entrance side and 1 1/2'' hole on the exit side. They are cost effective and shoot a 2'' group off the shooting sticks at 100 yards all day long (provided you swab between shots - mandatory for accuracy from ANY bullet). I'm a firm believer in these sabots.

Awesome bullet! Killed ...

Awesome bullet! Killed three deer from 80-200lbs and never had one go more than 50 yards. Great expansion on two of the recovered bullets, but I am switching to the 300 gr. to see if the pass throughs increase. Accuracy is great also, 1-2" groups @ 100 yards. Worth trying for sure.
